No midnight screening for me, either. I don't have a vehicle, and even though I can stay up until way past midnight, I don't think my mom would like it if I walked home at three o'clock in the morning (especially since the theater DoS will be playing in is about an hour's walk from my apartment).

I bought advance tickets a couple of weeks ago for the 3:30 pm showing in HFR 3D (but our theater abbrieviates it as STC for some reason) on December 15 (I hardly ever go on opening night). It will be playing in our UltraAVX theater that has reserved seating, so I didn't have to worry about it selling out. Can't wait to see Thorin again on the big screen (and in 3D).

I also watched the Live Stream for the Premiere in Los Angeles. They had a new TV spot at the end, and the look on one of the fan's faces when she learned she just won tickets to go see the movie was priceless (I bet she wasn't expecting that), only to be congradulated by Richard Armitage! If I were in her shoes, I would have probably passed out (or at least felt a little weak in the knees).

I guess that's because Thorin is so much younger, and because his beard is a lot shorter. It's amazing what a shorter beard does for your level of attractive-ness

I'm very happy to say that I'm going to see the midnight premiere next week I'm actually going to see An Unexpected Journey first, directly followed by the Desolation of Smaug at midnight.

My friend and I went to the midnight premiere last year, and we wore our fancy Christmas-themed pyjama pants for the occasion. We're now still debating whether we want to wear something more Hobbit-related, or keep up the slumberparty theme

You might want to pick up December's issue of Empire magazine, since Thorin is one of the four collectible covers (a pretty hot looking picture too, if I do say so myself). Since we don't get this magazine in my neck of the woods, I had to order mine on eBay. I also ordered my 2014 DoS Calendar on eBay because it had more pictures of Thorin in it (even if they are smaller pictures on the bottom of the pages).

Not that anyone will notice, because the forum has been so quiet lately! I'm going to be going offline for a little while. Quite litterally. I use a web'n'walk internet stick, and the 30 day pass runs out in just over an hour from now. There is no point topping it back up again, because I'll be getting a new internet stick for christmas. (The current one is six years old! I thought it wouldn't last a year!)

Work called me today, asking if I could come in. Yeah, no, I'm snowed in! Not sure when I'll be able to get my car out of my subdivision, because our road committee hasn't gotten a plow in here for the road, so everyone's been driving on it and now the snow is packed down hard like its solid ice, plus we're supposed to be getting freezing drizzle and more snow overnight and tomorrow...*sigh* Looks like I'll be getting rides from people for a while. But the snow sure does look pretty! Maybe it'll be a white Christmas this year. I always wish for a little bit of snow on Christmas, not enough to make travel dangerous for anyone, yet just enough to make everything look pretty.

(and yep, I did make a name change I've been Lithi for a while, thought I'd shake it up a little for something different )
