I'm totally in favor of a Wisconsin party! Although I think we'll be closer to Milwaukee than Madison. (P.S, Shadowcat, the weather is just as hot here in Michigan right now, believe me!)

It made sense! I'll be in Milwaukee itself, actually, although not at the beginning of our trip. I'll PM you!

I agree, the summer heat here is terrible. Even though WI gets nasty winters, I have to say that summer is definitely my least favorite season. And I'd love to meet you guys, but as I don't own a car (and I actually don't have a license yet ), I probably won't be able to get down to Milwaukee when you'll be there. But I will be there for Irish Fest in August...

Here in Michigan, we have four seasons: Almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction. In my experience it's the same everywhere in the Midwest.

Ya know, we should do a little AU-er meet up in Chicago sometime. Because we've got Wisconsin, Michigan, and Illinois (myself) and it would be EPIC. (Though I am looking at a job in Madison, oooh?)

... That goes for all of you, actually; get up to Milwaukee because Irish music and a tiny get-together. Aww, but I'd be all for a Chicago meet-up sometime. I head down that way all the time. Of course, I'm going to college on the other side of the ocean, so that makes it more difficult, but when I'm on vacation, a mini AU party would be awesome.

Sure, I'll make sure to stop by! I'm not sure what to expect for this year's Fest what with the Bluegrass theme, but I'm sure it'll be great as usual. How long have you been Irish dancing? You mean you aren't going to teleport yourself back and forth across the pond to dance? Also, the midwest is totally Middle-Earth. Or at least the Shire, where I'm at. "Peace and quiet and good tilled earth" and all that. There's good tilled earth everywhere you look.

Actually, I could take a 15 minute train ride to a studio that's close by my school, but it'd be at night in a city I don't know, which I don't really want to do. At least not straight away; maybe after a year I'd come back.
I had a radical idea a few minutes ago though. What if we managed to coordinate an AU Midwest Meetup in December and we all went to see The Hobbit? Would that not be the most amazing thing of all time?

I don't really like bluegrass either... But I've never really gotten into it, so I should probably hold off judgment until I actually get there. But there's always Gaelic Storm, and they're fantastic! And wow, ten years of dancing! I bet you know tons of dances by heart by now. Gotta love good-tilled earth, eh, Nurr? Farms, farms, and more farms! And an AU Hobbit party would be a fantastic idea! (although I may not be able to make it since my family usually gets together for the holidays...)

A Hobbit meetup would be amazing...I'll have to see how my exam schedule looks in December though because I think it comes out during exam week!
