I know, folks around here are kinda crazy, used to not be. Now two inches can snow us in to a degree, because we have to drive up a long, winding, steep gravel hill to get to the actual road. And there's trees along both sides of the gravel road that blocks the sunlight and helps keep the snow on the road, and with all the people in our subdivision going in and out it makes the hill 'slicker than snot', as Ma would say. Just about every snowfall one of our neighbors winds up sliding off into the ditchline when they try to get up the hill.

I'm just sad because my route to lectures has turned into very slick ice. It's on a hill, and even though it's not bad going up, going down is definitely treacherous.

^ I hope you made it to your lectures safe and sound! Tomorrow we'll finally get some snow (about 10-20 cm), if I can believe the forecast. And as always when considering snow, the entire country is in a state of panic... We have a code orange for the weather, which is quite severe. Apparently some wind and some snow are valid reasons to put the entire public transport down and to create mass chaos overall

^ we experience mass chaos as well with only a few inches on the ground. well, not us exactly, but the people up in the city do. so we got the latest Entertainment Weekly magazine yesterday, my brother and I were fighting over it because it was about the Hobbit! I pulled the "daddy!!!" card, yep, I got to see the magazine first!

still no snow here, I'm startin to think those weathermen were nuts...
Ok, question for EVERYBODY...has anyone on here changed their name recently, so that its different from the list in the opening post? I'm checking the Tree list to make sure its up to date, since it seems we've had some people vanish for a while. Just making sure they havent vanished because of a name change I didn't catch!

Nope! I'm still GP As for snow, we had a huge snowstorm right after Hurricane Sandy, but since then there's been none. Quick question: What are y'all doing for the holidays?

I also can't think of any recent name changes sis Looks like Christmas will be quite busy this year: Christmas evening I'll spend at my dad's, Christmas day at my mum's and the day after Christmas at my boyfriend's parents.

We aint got Christmas plans nailed down just yet, since Ma's working on Christmas Eve we're gonna have to do things differently. We're thinking of doing our own Christmas on Eve, then going out to one Grandma's house for breakfast Christmas morning, then heading over to my other Grandma's house in the evening. Busy busy busy!

Every year for Christmas my family goes to my grandpas house, and we have turkey and mashed potatoes. My grandpa makes the best mashed potatoes . Hopefully it will have snowed by then.

Well, my brother has recently become obsessed with Tolkien. Which is good, I'm happy about that. But unfortunately now he cant seem to keep his hands off my books...which is a big no-no.

Haha I feel exactly the same way! I don't mind letting people borrow my DVDs or CDs, but I'm very protective of my books (and also of my LOTR extended editions actually). I'm always scared they'll drop the books, fold the pages, spill coffee/tomato soup/something sticky on them or just never return them to me

I finally broke down and let my brothers borrow my extended edition DVDs, because they wanted to watch the commentary version. But the rule is I put the disk in, I take the disk out. I figure I had better just do it that way, otherwise they'd wind up sneaking in my room and taking it when I'm not home. They're disrespectful that way. There was a time that I had to hide all of my video games to keep my brother out of them.
