I'm having to break ice on the two bird baths I tend to, as temps have been below freezing at least at night for several days. Today I just dumped the fairly thick ice cover plus residual water and did a complete water refill. And we're having a winter drought, as precipitation of any kind has been seriously lacking (slowly melting snow in winter being a non-trivial refill resource for our groundwater supplies – and we’re not getting any). |
