Quotes are much too overrated. They survive and stand the test of time because they have parallel structure and rythym. Take this quotation: "To err is human, but to forgive is divine."

Do you think it would be as popular if it went like this: "To make a mistake is human, but forgiving has a god-like aspect to it."

The same meaning, but our minds like the first one better because it flows.

Well, yes, but the quotes also mean somthing. Take for example "If I had a garnet I would steal your heart" That sounds pretty poetic, (I think. I made it up a few seconds ago) but it has no meaning.

I actually love quotes. For every day of school I have a quote i lett them
(Though it contains stuff like Atomic monkey special forces squad)

And quotes are supposed to sound pretty, that's just the way it is
Such as
We can't controle the wind, but we can ajdust the sails"
Reach for the moon, and even if you miss you land among the stars.
To fly, we have to have resistance.
A journey of 1000 miles begins with one small step
you can;t leap a 50 foot chasm with 5 10 foot jumps
