Hehe, I do already have a copy on the harddrive of the Bearded Davenport pic. I got it four months ago from the Mr Davenport Appreciation's Journal on Livejournal which then took me on a quest to own the hardcopy which I do! It's from the February 2006 issue of UK Cosmopolitan, a section on TV Hotties. Jack was nicknamed "the Bodice Ripper."

I don't know why, but to me, the beard just accentuates his masculinity and just makes him...so much hotter than before although it also brings attention to the fact that he lost so much weight and doesn't look quite so boyish anymore.

It's funny, at least two or three times while I was posting all that (my post with all the pictures, obviously), I thought to myself "I can't believe I'm doing this" (I'm not usually one to make posts in threads like this), but the fact of the matter is, after seeing pictures of him from DMC, learning where Ted & Terry are going to take his character on KTTC, and then seeing him in Coupling, I've become quite attracted to the man and hooked on him & just about everything having to do with him !
I absolutely love that! If anyone who read that article disagreed, they don't anymore ! He certainly is one now ! Amazing what something so benign as a change in appearance and a portrayal of a character (or upcoming portrayal, in this case) can do, isn't it ?

Thanks for that link! I'll definitely be adding it to my list of POTC-actor links! I already have one for Johnny, and was actually looking for a good one for Jack D; now I've got one ! Oh, goodness gracious, look at me ! You know I'm a fan when I start using one of the "fan shorthands" for an actor's name when talking about him ! It was inevitable though . Seeing a neat, tidy, attractive guy go the scruffy route in a movie I love, seeing/knowing he's playing/going to play a deep, layered character, then seeing him in another role and loving him in it, and all that happening in one fell swoop, well, it's a surefire formula for turning me into a fan, and that's exactly what happened . I have absolutely no complaints, though !

I never thought of that, but yes, it's true. That's actually one of the first things that struck me when I saw him in Coupling. And as you already know from my reply to your message on KTTC about POTC 1's first script draft, a boyish appearance is another thing I find attractive. The way he looks in that series definitely fits that look. Ditto about the beard, as well. Orlando's another one like that. I find him attractive anyway, but I swear I was mentally drooling myself into a state seeing him with a full beard in Kingdom of Heaven . Same thing with Jack Davenport: he's cute as heck in Coupling, but he's absolutely to die for in DMC!

I have been known to call him Jackjack from time to time because JD could be Jack or Johnny, but I was having the darndest time with Jack (Sparrow) and Jack (Davenport) so out of desperation I was referring to Jack as Sparrow and Jackjack for Davenport denoting how he's a Jack in real life.

Without the beard, Jack D. is more adorable, wheras with the beard, it does add masculinity, as....someone whose name I do not know said.

Oooh, those are absolutely lovely, Ericadawn! I'm getting all "hot and bothered" over that sexy "come hither" expression on his face in the second one! It's a good thing he's married, because if he wasn't, that look would cause a huge crowd of girls to make a beeline for him, and he'd be mobbed like crazy ! I'm assuming those are pretty recent, since he has the beard, but something (his outfit probably) about them gave me the impression that they were taken when he was younger . Ever since I saw that version of Les Miserables, I've wondered what the name of the actor who played Marius was, but I'd never been able to find out! Now I know ! Has he been in anything else? Eru...I know who that guy is! The one in the pictures you posted and your banner, I mean (and avatar) He played Mordred in The Mists of Avalon mini-series! It was bothering me why I recognized him, and I finally realized that...

He's kinda cute, but I can't really disassociate him from Mordred, so he looks a wee bit evil
