I'm not one to have celeb crushes on actors, but British actor Matthew MacFadyen was so charming and handsome in Pride & Prejudice that I can't help but gush about him  tall, dark, broody and handsome...what do you guys think? I hope we see more of him in the future.

YES! *hugs MM* Although he has a bit of a...personality issue in RL, I believe. He got a bit worked up when people kept comparing him to Colin Firth, but I suppose that would annoy anyone.

But yes, I think he's quite cool, and I want more pictures of him :-D *becomes a paparazzi*

Haha yeah I heard, he also absolutely refuses to read Jane Austen's books :confuzzled: . But he's still young (31!) so maybe he'll *ehem* change or mature :p. Nevertheless he's a stunning actor (beautiful blue eyes too *sigh*) and Keira Knightley had a crush on him when shooting P&P. Who wouldn't

I would have a crush on him too! He looked so good! He (i thought) was the best looking guy in P&P. No one else agreed with me tho...

What other guys ARE there in P&P who could be better looking? I mean, Mr. Bennet is too old, and then there's just Mr. Bingley and Wickham. Darcy pwns them all!

I read on Austenblog that he was going on vacation soon and he thought he might try reading a Jane Austen novel along the way :)

I never knew that, you can't be Mr Darcy without reading Pride and Prejudice :annoyed2:

I liked him in P&P and I think he is very good looking but I prefere Colin Firth :P

I actually think that having not read the book made his interpretation feel more...natural. He wasn't trying to imitate or impersonate anyone, he brought his own fresh and passionate portrayel. He's never seen the 1995 BBC series version either. I think maybe I'll rewatch the 1995 series sometime, it's been awhile. The last time I saw it was many years ago and I told my parents to change the channel :S how silly of me, I thought it looked stuffy but now after reading the book I'll probably love it.

Anyways back on topic, there's so little fansites for MM, I only know:

http://www.matthew-macfayden.co.uk
And http://www.geocities.com/matthew_macfadyen
No good quality though, I dare say :(

I feel tempted to make a small MM fansite, maybe later when I have more time...:)

That would be great if you made a fansite for him, Eden! Waaay too few right now. It would be hard to find pictures for a good gallery though.

Speaking of pictures, over at the fansite with the Geocities URL that you posted, they have these two pictures listed under P&P:

http://macfadyenweb.fotopic.net/p18948500.html

http://macfadyenweb.fotopic.net/p18948502.html

Am I missing something? Because A) It looks like a much younger Matthew with longer hair, B) Totally un-P&P costumes, and C) It's definitely not something from the version I saw in theaters! Good pictures, but I can't for the life of me figure out where they're from.

Haha those pics are obviously not from Pride & Prejudice for sure. I took a look at his filmography (a very short one at that :( and I think it's most likely from:

"The Way We Live Now" (2001) (mini) TV Series .... Sir Felix Carbury
A BBC Victorian period satire series.

Yeah, I would have to scour the net for good pics of him...or just pics in general. MM is frustratingly elusive, which adds to his appeal but makes it difficult for prospective fans!
