This poem could have been written by Galadriel as soon as she felt that the time of the Elves is over and it's written in form of a Shakespearean sonnet.... The world has changed Galadriel's lament The world has changed forever, The power of my people slowly fades, The days of your glory will return never, Across Middle-Earth will spread dark shades. The great days of the Elves are over, To men, dwarves and hobbits this world we must leave, Without us Lorien will lie forever cold and sober, But to our ancient destiny we must cleave. When after all those years weary we feel, The white ships lie ready for us to sail, But while at our silver shores all wounds will heal, I fear soon our legacy will not be more than a fairy tale.
