Ok... so I'm a bit stuck on the whole "journal" thing right now but I had an idea for a fan-fiction (similar to the RP I started) that is a bit different from others.
Basically I will tell the life story of a Jedi (Jax Nova) starting when he is young until he grows old and dies. Even if no one reads it should be a fun story to write.
I'll do it in chapters and each chapter will be a mini-story so to speak and I'll start at the beginning of Episode one and do my own starwars prequal re-write throughout the course of my story.
So in the end it may not be a superb read but I think it will be fun to write on.

Chapter One: A learning Experience
Journal Entry #1: Jedi Youngling Jax Nova.
It was a cold morning on Coruscant when I woke up... or maybe it was just my nerves. Today was the day. The day I had been working towards my entire young life... the day I would be promoted to Padawan and receive my own Master!
I could barely contain my enthusiasm as I rushed around my dimly lit room to prepare for the day. I grabbed my youngling outfit and dressed, making it as perfect as a thirteen year old could. I fixed the short black hairs that were standing on my head as I looked in the mirror and then rushed out and towards the mess-hall for morning breakfast and the first class of the day.
It's hard...sitting here in this class and listening to a youngling lecture when I know as soon as it's over I will be promoted to a Padawan! I know, however, that I will need to take in every bit of information that I can in order to preform adequately as a padawan.

"Jax Nova," a voice called out. "Are you paying attention?"
"Yes Mast...well, kind of Master," Jax answered. "I'm sorry Master." Jax bowed his head and put away his data-pad.
Finally the Jedi speaker ended his lesson and the younglings were let out. Jax didn't even stop to talk to his friends, he rushed out and down the hall towards the Jedi council room.
"Hold up kid," the guard at the door said, holding his hand out palm facing Jax's face.
"I have an appointment," Jax told him.
The guard smiled and nodded. "I know. The council is just finishing up. They will be done shortly." Jax stood impatiently, tapping his toe. "I thought you Jedi were supposed to be patient?" the guard teased.
Jax looked up, not showing his alertness to what the guard said. "We are. I've just got a lot of energy today."
The guard sent him a knowing grin as the council doors opened and a contingent of Jedi left. "You may now enter youngling."
Jax took a deep breath and walked in calmly, bowing to the council who was seated around the circular room. "I'm ready to face the tests Masters."
"Hm... Ready you say?" Master Yoda replied. "Soon, find out we will. Recite the Jedi Code."
"There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no death, there is the Force" Jax recited the Code quick and crisp.
"Very good," Master Windu said with a nod and a smile. "But knowing the code and applying it are two very different things. Use the code and your jedi training to decide which action would be best in the situations presented by Master Mundi."
Master Mundi inclined his head and began to speak. "There is a hostage inside a house that is crawling with enemies. Do you sneak around and try to find a safe way to enter, cut through the front door, or try to negotiate?"
Jax hesitated. "Keep in mind that none of these answers are necessarily wrong, youngling," Master Ploo Koon told him. "But they tell us what kind of Jedi you will be and thus will help us decide what kind of Master to give you."
Jax nodded slowly and then answered. "Protocol would say you first try to negotiate, non-violent solutions are always what the Jedi strive for. We are keepers of peace, not soldiers," Jax recited what he had learned in his classes. "While negotiating you search for any possible entrances. If negotiations fail you take the best way in...if there is no other way in, then you cut down the front door."
"Very good," Master Mundi said. "Now, what if you are surrounded by attackers and you can not defeat them all. Do you fight to the death to keep your honor, surrender, or run for your life?"
Jax took a moment and then said. "You surrender, it's safer than trying to flee and it doesn't let the enemy think the Jedi are weak."
"And what if your ship is crashed on a deserted planet?" Mundi asked.
"First of all you try to fix it... if you can't then you salvage what parts you can and try to get a signal out. If you can't get a signal out then your best option is to travel until you find civilization. If there is absolutely no civilization on the planet then you stay where you are and do what you can to survive."
