Both of these came from quiet times during a retreat this weekend. "I Hear, I See, I Praise" I hear you in the leaves that rustle in the everpresent wind. I feel you in the sun beating down to drive the chill away. I see you in the water a reflection of the earth you created. You, oh God, are wonderful and mighty You watch over us, you are with us All your creation sings of your glory with words of wind, water, and light. I hear you in the silence, silence people only make when they sense you. I feel you in the air that brings the smell of rain and spring. I see you in the heads of four people bowed down in prayer. Oh Lord, how majestic is your name! How great are your works! How wonderful is the day you give, and the peace that comes with it, as we see your majesty in the quiet and ourselves. "Not Alone" Alone. Yet, not alone. Squawks and honks of geese break my thoughts A songbird twitters somewhere around my head A man is sitting fifty yards away Like me, he is alone. Yet not alone. Alone with the silence only nature brings Alone with his thoughts, his prayers Alone, but comforted by the presence of someone- God. He answers the unspoken words in the silence He is the warmth in the chill of a winter morning He is a comforting glow somewhere inside of me Because of Him I sit quietly. Alone. Yet not alone. |

Beautiful, Nurr. The first feels as though you could turn it into a song. Very lovely work. ![]() |
