Tom Bombadil stumps me. He simply does not seem to fit with the other characters in Tolkein's world. I have a conspiracy theory of my own.
Tom was a human from our world that got trapped in middle-earth! Thus the ring has no affect on him, and he doesn't really care about it either.
Okay, now you probably think I'm crazy. My theory doesn't make much sense either.
