I meant "comments", then. Didn't know what to call them.

I just finished reading Narn Ni Hin Hurin in Unfinished Tales, and have just remembered how sad it is. Hurin goes off and doesn't come back, Morwen runs off, and Nienor and Turin kill themselves.
The part when Nienor throws herself off Cabed-en-Aras, is really sad. I couldn't believe it.
When Nienor realizes she is pregnant with Turin's child, I kind of gagged. I know they don't know they're brother and sister, but still.Ewwww....

^ Yeah, I agree about the gagging. Even though they didn't know.
Moreover, I agree with the sad thing... it is the saddest story in the Silmarillion, in my opinion. It really is.

Narn i Hin Hurin is a better version of the story than 'Of Turin Turambar' in the Silmarillion, and is about as dark a story you will get from Tolkien. It is well written even in its raw form, and breaks the 'happily ever after' ending mold of Lord of the Rings.

I really like the Narn. I've always liked the story of Túrin Turambar in the Sil and when I discovered the Narn in the UT I was blown away. I was sooo happy to get a longer version of Túrin's story. It's such a sad story and it developes in ways you wouldn't expect it to, also because it doesn't have a happy ending.
