Exactly, there is no religion in Arda save false religions. Remember the Valar do exist, Eru Iluvatar is. This bearing in mind, there is no point in calling it anything, because it is fact. Religions are given names to distinguish themselves from each other-why? Because it's not an accepted fact that God (lets call Him Yahweh, because God is too loose a term) is, or Christ was the Son of God(i.e. Judaism vs. Christianity)

Well the only real one. But you couldn't even really call the worship of Morgoth and/or Sauron something, because your worshipping real beings (like the worship of past leaders, i.e. Adolf-it wasn't called 'Adolfism' [there was however an incident were a girl tried making a religion of him...]), not even past mythologies have names, for that matter...But then, they were given names by us, modern folk, to distinguish those apart (i.e. Norse Mythology vs. Egyptian Mythology). Likewise we call Tolkien's grande work 'Tolkien's Mythology....

When you think about it, a religeon is a set of beliefs, but the elves don't really just believe in Illuvatar and the Valar, they KNOW they exsist, I mean, they get to go to Valinor, where the Valar actually ARE and they don't have to die to get there. So it isn't so much a religeon as just a fact of life. I don't think you could even call it a religeon, because it's a known fact that it exsists.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. But is there anything so concrete as that in our world? It seems like truth is more elusive and is harder to understand here. (Which I believe is one of the reasons fantasy works like LotR are so hard hitting and powerful.) Is it just me or are the most valuable things in our world not so tangible and seeable...things that must be accepted by faith according to our experience?
