I prefer the Rohirrim, but only by a slight... I like country folk more and I do admire their horse-based lifestyle and culture.

You know I've never really thought about it before but I like Gondor better. Even though they aren't as good at riding horses, they take on the brunt of Mordor everday and are the beacon of light that all of middle-earth look to. I just like them better because they just stand for hope.

Rohirrim. Pretty horsies. :-D

And their story is wonderful, and they have light hair, whereas everyone else seems to be dark haired.

I have to say that I prefer the Rohirrim.
Probably the major reason for that is that I really love horses just like the Rohirrim and so I can identify better with them. But also the people from Gondor come across a little arrogant at times in my opinion, because they see themselves as the greatest men that are in Middle Earth. But of course I really like the people from Gondor as well (I mean the people from Gondor not including the Dunedain. The Duneidain are of course really great men and not arrogant at all), because of all their ancient knowledge and the history of their ancestors (after all they descended from the faithful men of Númenor)

I like the Rohirrim better, I like their country life and how their whole culture is formed around their horses, rather than the big, cold, city life... I don't know, I don't favor them dramatically, but if I had to pick one, that would be why.

Gondor is more advanced like their military and defensive weapons were far better than The Rohan. Even though mingling with the nature are good and inspiring me to pick them as the best men of race. In addition, the Rohan is more courageous than the Gondorians. They lack big advanced army and weapons like Gondor. Therefore, I would go with Gondor.

I actually quite like the cities of Gondor, I think they are amazingly beautiful. However, the atmosphere that is in those cities during the time of the war of the Ring (and also some times before that) is such a depressing one, because everything slowly falls into decay and the people are losing their nobility (especially Denethor their steward of course...)

I like Rohan better. Wide open fields, green beauty further than eyes can see. It gives me the sense of freedom.

Freedom that I believe is a privilege given by the sweat and blood of Gondor.

Maybe so. But I reflected my own life to the books. Living in city like Minas Tirith would be impossible for me. I would be anxious to the point of hyperventilating. Like I am when I have to go to a bigger city in real life. I hate crowds. And the way Tolkien described Gondor and Minas Tirith... it gave me the impression that the people were living very close to each other.

When Tolkiens description of Rohan were wide open fields, it was green and so on. The cities were smaller and different from Gondor. More like my own little village.

While I admire Gondor's beauty it cannot compare to the beauty of Rohan. And I admire the courage of the men and women of Gondor, but I admire the people of Rohan more. To me Gondor is a tragic place, all it has is the memories of glorious past and hopes for better tomorrow. It is in itself tragicly beautiful... Rohan might not have as glorious past as Gondor, but the courage and the love comes from the land itself. To me it is easier to identify with... and that is the reason I like the people of Rohan more.

The Rohirrim definitely. Their culture is very similar to the Norse/Germanic/Anglo-Saxon culture and I've always been a huge fan of that. Plus, it's also my own culture's history. :)

I would have to say Gondor for thier history and heritage and, well I just love Minas Tirith though I could never live in a city. I think I would prefer to live in either Mirkwood or on the coast near Dol Amroth.
