Post subject:  Impact of monitoring on employee morale

I have a question that has been on my mind for some time now, and perhaps some of you can share your experience or opinion. Do you think monitoring employees affects their morale and motivation? I understand that for some companies it's a necessary measure to monitor performance, especially in a remote work environment, but it's important for employees to feel trusted and respected by management. But how to find that balance

Employee monitoring can affect morale and motivation in different ways, and a lot depends on how it is implemented. We, for example, use the https://www.monitask.com/en/ platform, which helps to see time allocation to tasks and use monitoring as a tool for optimization rather than control. The platform allows you to track working hours, applications and sites that an employee uses, and takes screenshots of the desktop. But the important point is that employees can turn monitoring on and off themselves. This gives a sense of control and doesn't cause unnecessary stress. We also emphasized transparency: the team understands that we use Monitask to identify workload by task and to identify areas for process improvement, not for tracking. This approach has helped relieve stress, because employees know that this is being done to improve efficiency and work organization, not for constant surveillance.

I think a lot depends on perception. If employees see that monitoring is aimed at support and improvement rather than strict control, then they perceive it positively. It is also important that the purpose of monitoring is clearly explained, then the team will not feel that they are being deprived of trust. I support the idea that transparency and open communication help to make monitoring part of a healthy working environment.
