I started getting into techwear almost by accident. Last winter, I was cycling to work in these basic cotton joggers and a thin windbreaker, thinking it’d be fine. Spoiler: it wasn’t. I showed up soaked and frozen more times than I care to count. My boyfriend kept saying I should look into more functional stuff, but I didn’t want to look like I was off to hike Ben Nevis every morning. Then I stumbled on a jacket with a sharp silhouette, hidden hood, and it actually repelled rain like magic. Since then, I’ve been gradually swapping out my old pieces for ones that actually serve a purpose and still look slick. I'm obsessed with the layered look now — cargo skirts with leggings, cropped tech hoodies, ankle boots that can take a puddle splash without ruining your day. And the storage! I swear, having a pocket that fits your phone, card, and lip balm and doesn’t ruin the shape of your fit is so underrated.

Same here, I started getting into it when I got sick of freezing on the way to class and sweating on the way home. What got me hooked was realizing that most so-called “functional” women’s wear was either ugly or just shrunk-down versions of men’s stuff. Finding pieces that actually considered style and utility felt impossible for ages. So when I came across this site with some proper women-focused tech clothing, I was hyped — tech clothing has options that actually feel made for us, not just “made smaller.” The high-waisted cargo pants are my go-to now — flattering but built like armor. Also their cropped jackets with storm flaps and adjustable cords? Literal lifesavers when the weather flips halfway through the day. Bonus: their stuff layers well without looking bulky. Pro tip if you're new to this: start with one or two statement pieces, like a jacket or tactical vest, and keep the rest simple until you figure out your vibe. And definitely pay attention to fabric — not all waterproof stuff breathes, so check for ventilation or two-way zips. Makes all the difference.

There’s always something kind of exciting about not knowing if you’ll need a waterproof jacket, thermal layer, or nothing at all — and then having one outfit that somehow does all three.
