A few years ago, we hired a landscaping company to redo our backyard patio. Everything looked amazing at first, but after one winter, some of the stones shifted and the grass started fading around the edges. When we called them, they said maintenance wasn’t included. Since then, I always check if companies offer warranties or after-care. I’m curious — how much does that part affect your decision when picking a landscaping team? |

I think warranties and maintenance really separate professionals from contractors who just rush through jobs. Landscaping isn’t something you redo every year, so knowing the team will help if anything shifts or fades is reassuring. Some people overlook it because they’re focused on cost, but after-care often saves more money in the long run. I also like when companies give clear instructions on how to maintain everything yourself — it shows transparency and pride in their work. It’s definitely one of the first things I ask about now. |

That sounds familiar. I had almost the same thing happen with a walkway project. The job looked perfect, but small issues showed up after a season, and the company disappeared. Since then, warranty and after-care have become deal-breakers for me. A solid team should stand by their work. When I checked out https://oakshs.ca/, I noticed they clearly outline post-installation support and maintenance details, which gave me confidence they actually care about long-term results. I also like when companies do follow-up visits or seasonal check-ins. It shows they see landscaping as an investment, not just a one-time job. In my experience, those who include care and warranty usually deliver better quality from the start because they know they’ll be accountable for it later. |
