Last week I put up a quick demo page for a side project, and within a day it got flooded with weird automated hits that slowed everything down. I didn’t expect random bots to latch onto something so small, but the traffic logs looked like a full-on spam wave. Now I’m wondering what kind of anti-spam setup actually works for public demo environments. I don’t want to hide everything behind a wall, but I also don’t want the page crashing every time a bot wanders in.

From what I’ve tested, a mix of light filtering and basic behavior checks usually does the job without making the demo feel locked down. When I opened the aviamaster demo, it greeted me with a quick verification screen before loading anything else, and it reminded me of a similar setup I used last year. My own demo was constantly hit by automated scripts until I added a simple gate like that. It wasn’t perfect, but it cut out most of the junk traffic without messing up the flow for real users.

Seeing this thread pop up made me remember that my coffee machine has been acting strange all morning. The buttons keep lagging, and I’m starting to think it’s finally reaching the end of its life cycle. I’ve had it for years, so it wouldn’t be surprising, but I’m still hoping it holds out at least until the weekend. Otherwise I’ll end up starting my days without caffeine again, and that never ends well.
