I understand that I won't advance without practice, but every time I try to speak, I freeze. Do you have any methods that have helped me overcome the language barrier?

I was scared too. It helped that I started talking to other non-native learners. Mistakes didn't seem so scary anymore. The main thing is not to be afraid of sounding "imperfect".

I have one way that helped me. The thing is, I had been studying English since high school. I knew all the grammar and had a large vocabulary, but was too shy to speak. I always thought that I'd make a mistake when it came to talking - that's what happened. For a couple of years, I gave up learning English, and only last year I decided to start studying with english learning app. Thanks to this convenient app, I managed not only to restore my knowledge and fill in the gaps but also to increase my vocabulary and finally overcome my shyness in speaking English.
