I also want to see the Hobbit film, and I agree with the part that they have to hurry, because else Sir Ian McKellen will be too old to play Gandalf again! And now the pain is very heavy that LOTR is finished, so why don't ease the pain with a new fantasy story made by our loved PJ wich is also playing in Middle Earth!

I agree that he should make it soon before some of the actors become too old to play their part, well atleast hopefull they'll come back.I would very much like PJ to make it soon. But if we should be trying to convince anyone about making the Hobbit film it should be New Line Cinemas. I read that apparently New Line was bought by Sony so theres a little strain in trying to get the new New line to approve of the Hobbit, but PJ said that if they called him and said "lets make the Hobbit" he'd be happy to do so.

I think that withsome well done make-up, Elijah wood could play the part of Bilbo(apart from his voice)
And It doesnt really matter about Ian getting too old for gandalf, since make up is good stuff And with a little CG, its all good! lol

I don't really think it would be a good idea for Peter to make the Hobbit, frankly...it's far too anticlimactic. Imagine how he'd be treated by the media and Hollywood. They'd all say he was overdoing it. So really, I don't think it's giong to happen. Though if it does, I'll be the first in line for tickets.

Maybe we have to write to New Line Cinema, maybe that would help a little.

On the "let the Hobbit happen" site, it said that after King Kong, he'd do the Hobbit. Maybe PJ was just trying to appease us but he could also be serious...*ponders* I can wait--as long as Orli doesn't play King Thranduil...it just wouldn't fit and seeing him in LotR was already almost too much for me..

There are 2 reasons for them to make the Hobbit.
A) It is a wonderful book, if it wasnt for the Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings would never of happened(story wise)
B) SMAUG!!! If they were to make the Hobbit and Smaug wasnt up to my standards....i swear....i'd find who ever designed him and put him/her through a sugar cane squeezer.

I have mixed feeling about The Hobbit. I don't think I would enjoy it as much as LotR, because LotR is so epic and amazing and...wow...and The Hobbit is more of a silly bedtime story. If you know what I mean. But I'd still totally go to it. I'd be afraid they wouldn't do Beorn right, myself...

haven't you guys heard? PJ (along with Fran Walsh) is the producer of Halo.. see for yourself >>
http://comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=15944
it's to be released in 2008 -__-
As for the Hobbit, i've heard nothing more than all of you have and I would so much prefer PJ to be thinking about it a bit more..
Back in 2004 (i think..) in Sydney, whilst the LotR exhibition was on, i went to see PJ at the Sydney theatre house, he did not mention ONE thing about the Hobbit, it was mostly about the making of the Rings and his progress in Kong.. i found it sad, but, that's life i suppose

Meh. I'd like to see The Hobbit made, but by someone other than PJ.
