I’m in Minnesota and it snows a ton here, plus we get heavy rain in spring. I’m wondering if a soft roll-up cover will actually hold up or if I should spend more on a hard cover. I’d like to avoid spending over $1000 if I don’t have to, but I also don’t want my tools getting soaked. Any thoughts?

I live in upstate New York and deal with similar weather. I got the TruXedo Pro X15 and it’s been great through snow, rain, and ice. It’s not fully waterproof (none of them really are), but it keeps things dry enough that I’ve never had issues with gear getting wet. The tension keeps it tight so snow doesn’t pool or sag. I bought it from their website because I wanted to make sure I got the real deal and the right fit. No regrets so far. It’s a nice balance between price and durability.
