has anyone elce seen the anamatic of Aragorn vs. Sauron in the bounus fetuers? It's on the third disk, under "From Books to Script" 'tis neat, although the voises used are...odd to say the least, and the drawlings look a tad funny to (in my opinion it makes gollem look funny, along with the hobbits, and Aragorn lookes like an elve) at any rate, I like that it wasn't in the movie, I think that would prevert the deeper aspect of LotR a little too much, but I'm very glad they put it on the DVD, It is a very interesting Idea. If ye Have the EE and havent seen it, go watch it...NOW!

saw that. i'm glad they abandoned that concept--it's not true to the book. Well, they did a bunch of stuff not in the book and it was all brilliant, but...still, i'm glad.

Yeah, I'n glad too, I really hate what they did in some parts of the movie, and with they had been truer to the book, infact I once made a list of all the stuff they took out/changed, it was pretty long, But I just thought that it was an interesting idea, I am a big Fanfiction fan, My fave charries(if you couldn't tell) are Aragorn and Legolas, and I thought it would be an interesting story, if Aragorn faced Sauron, I;m thinking of writing a fic where it happens in his dreams, the night before the battle.

My goodness, I am so glad they left that out. It would've ruined the movie for me if they put it in. I seriously doubt I would've bought the DVD when it came out, and I would've hunted down and murdered PJ. That was seriously the worst idea I've ever heard of something to add to a movie that has been adapted from a book. That would've been so untrue to Tolkien's LotR...grrr...just thinking about it makes me mad.

So do I. Actually, I'm kind of torn between it. I liked that they put the Troll in, but the whole thing with Sauron vs. Aragorn would have been more dramatic in my opinion.

It would have been more dramatic, but it would've been sooo non-Tolkien. I would have come pretty close to having a heart attack from wrath if they had put that in the theatrical version, I'm sure.

i refuse to watch even the thing in the extras - it really maddens me that they even considered doing it. tolkien would be turning in his grave. i read on the internet before the film came out that aragorn would fight sauron and i spent the next hour shouting at the computer screen! i was so relieved when they didn't put it in. yeah, i'm kind of a tolkien purist.

I think it's way better the way it is now, don't like the idea. Of course it would've been cool to see Araforn fight against Sauron, but it's just not what Tolkien wanted.
