Especially considering I had a severe illness at the beginning of the summer that took a good two months to recover from, and I still don't have near as much endurance as most people. Ah well. If I pass out at least I prove my point.

You could get a doctor's note telling them that you can't do that kind of endurance activity. Though you'd need more time to take that route.
