My Bamboo Fun[Wacom] cost around $200, but I got it on eBay, so...
I really, REALLY want a Cintiq. It's near the top of my list of things to save up for.

I think I'd take too long to get the hang of using a tablet.  I've seen one, and I think it would be awesome to try one. Are they easier to use than a mouse? _________________

My boyfriend has one. OMG they are soo much fun! I wouldn't say their easier than a mouse, but I suppose it's just a matter of getting used to it.
