Curves. If you pull the bottom of the Curve down, it makes your blacks black, and then if you pull the middle up it normalizes it.

OOOOOOOH that's such a gorgeous set Lethy. Much love for Narnia.
Hehe Silvery, every time I see your set for the first second I think he's deformed. Because his arm merges with his back.

I have a really weird Color Curves. There are about 5 different options of what to do with Curves (Increase Midtones, Lighten Shadows, Backlight...), and the black option always increases contrast and makes it burnt-like. Me thinks I'm doomed foreva.

Wait...what program are you guys talking about? I have Elements 8 and I don't think I have curves at all. Which makes me sad. D= I wants teh deep blacksiness. Issa pretty.
...Well, what I do sometimes is duplicate the original layer, desaturate it, go to brightness/contrast, put them both up all the way, and then set that layer to multiply. That sometimes works for deep blacksiness. But still, almost every tutorial out there talks about this mysterious curves thing...

I get my black by using Levels. It's all nice, you just fiddle with the left slide-y triangle until it gets to the right spot. Dunno if you have it or not.
And with curves, if you have an "RGB" curve, just play with that one.

Grey Color Burn layers work too, though that's a bit trickier. In a pinch, though, it'd work.

heehee I thought I'd get a bit creative with Lighten. It always makes things look very interesting.
Estie, I have Elements 5 (never decided to upgrade). No curves? That's really weird. I wonder why the Photoshop people decided to take it out, because it's an essential part of Photoshop-ing.
Nurr, I do have Levels, but I seem to have forgotten about it. I don't have a RGB curve, but I have other ways I can manipulate the curve thingy. It's really weird, and I have no idea why they did it that way. It's pretty nifty, though.
Grey Color Burn? You always have the cooled ways of getting color and stuff, Skitteh. I loves it.

... Dirty Pretty Things guys. They are amazing.
I have the most ridiculous Little Girl Crush on Didz. It's pathetic. (By "Little Girl Crush" I mean the sort of dumb point-and-giggle-and-run-away-and-hide-behind-your-mother sort of crush. Yeah. xD

That just sounds really, really funny. Well, since it was just my birthday a few weeks ago, maybe I can get one of my relatives to get him for me and then I can send him to you.
Stateside? Imma no knows that.
Oooo, fankoo! I has some blackness thanks to Curves. It actually looks non-contrasty or burnt-ish, so I'm happy. *joins Skitteh in her quest to merder Englishz*

"Why has this person from the internet sent you an Englishman in a box?"
... That's a conversation I'm not sure I want to have with my parents. Still, if I had a Didz, it probably wouldn't be too bad.
Stateside just means in the US of A. I think. Unless it means something completely different and weird. Which would be puzzling. xD
The GMC has killed my graphic-ness. I have Photoshop open but I gave up with the GMC and I don't think I can ever look at a picture of The Strokes again without dying internally.

Yesterday, I got Netflix. Instant movies to my computer ftw.
I just watched North & South today. Ah, Richard Armitage. And then, and then, Rupert Evans showed up. And if you don't know who he is, he's adorable and is in Emma too. So since I've been squeeing over Emma for the past two months, and then he showed up, I squeed. A lot. There may have been flailing involved as well.
And now I'm watching Wives and Daughters. Different, but the same. Period drama/romance.
WHY do I live in the US? I need BBC. I need my own BBC Netflix channel. I need all the lovely BBC actors and shows. Tis sad.
Hehe, Skitty, I know what you mean. I'm only able to keep going because BBC is fueling my muse. As it is, though, I'm having trouble doing anything Merlin related. *Le gasp!*

Skitty, I do believe you have a natural gift for coming up with the most amazing quotes. "Why has this person from the internet sent you an Englishman in a box?"
Oh, ok. I figured it meant something like that. Or maybe it was a music store. Or something.
That always happens to me after the GMC! That's part of why I decided not to do it this year. I always get so frustrated because I can't keep up with everybody, and it stops being fun. Right now, I'm perfectly content with making occasional Castle noms.
Nurr, I think my family was talking about Netflix this morning. We don't have it, but I think it would be awesome to get everything, as often as I wanted.
I'm off to see Inception this afternoon wiff da family! It's my dear sister's birthday, and me thinks today will be awesome. Yippee!

If I ever open a music store I'll call it Stateside. Unless that would mean it only sells American music. That would be bad, I couldn't do that. (I'm listening to The Killers because they're on NME Radio, and I just realised how bad they actually are. Cringe. I used to like them, too.)
I may make a Doctor Who banner, because I've been neglecting my love for 11th Doctor. It is there, lying dormant beneath my Libertines/Babyshambles/DPT/Strokes love.
EDIT: Amy Freaking Pond, my friends. and shameless Libertines lyrics. hahaha you never expected that, eh.
