I shall forever regret the fact that I had to resign from Star Crystal. But alas, I neither had nor have the time to continue with it, so that was my only option. Should all other RPGs shrivel and die here, Sharky's End would still be the first place I went to on the forum, just in case there was another post. I'm aware of the fact that I've said it before, but Star Crystal truly is the epitome of RPG awesomeness. ^_^

If I had time now, I'd see what I could do to revive Sacred Realm, but my life is a large conspiracy to keep me from having a consistent amount of time on the computer, so I cannot. It stinks to be me right now. :P

not being on the computer a whole lot isn't so bad...
Some of the best 2 weeks of my life were spent away from the computer, consumed by God, music, and frisbee...
But sometimes RPing can be almost as fun.

You flatter us, Reindeer. Speaking of which, I did make a Crystal banner and it's the one currently in my sig, which you are welcome to use if you wish :D I wasn't sure whether you wanted Crystal in general or M/K more specifically, but I assumed Crystal. I was kinda in the middle of making it and liked it enough to use it too.

Everyone voted in the awards yet? :D

(I'm addicted to the computer. I'm on vacation and I have my laptop with me, and in August I'm going to be away for twelve days and I have no idea how I'm going to manage)

^Yeah, I second that. Go vote.

Random question, is this the only place you guys rp? I tend to lurk around other forums, and I know Gaia has some nice ones, but other than that A-U seems to have the most active rpg section I've seen.

I haven't voted in all the categories yet. I want to wait until I have enough time to read all the posts and decide who my vote will go to. :-D

A-U is really the only forum I RP or stalk on. :teehee: I've been on a few other forums with rping, but this remains my favorite.

I've lurked a bit on other sites, but I honestly don't have the time or the energy to get into more. I'd rather use my time to do more writing for myself - at the moment, I'm only in Phantom and Crystal, which is enough when combined with the other stuff I have going on.

Yeah, they're active here...Sharky's in particular used to be a bit more active with the kind of RPGs I would join, but that's just my personal preference, I suppose.

I used to be one of the main RPers on the homeschool forum I'm on, but then one RP ended, and a month later the main RPer in another RP had to leave, and now the other main character in that RP rarely comes around anymore... so the RP section kinda died.

It's so sad when a good rp starts up and then dies a fiery (or not so fiery as it is mostly) death.

When I was an active RPer, which is to say, up until around March of this year, I was active on around six or seven different message boards, maybe more ("out of sight, out of mind," as the saying goes), but as of now, I'm only in one RPG, on a different message board, and that's because it's only ever posted in like once every week or something. <_< It's kind of a little slower than I prefer, but it's just about right for my time schedule right now.

Nightingale, I've gone with no comp for almost two months at one time before (as in, since I discovered the internet years ago), but that's about as far as I can stretch it. It's not that hard when you don't talk with a bunch of people, but there a lot of people that I can only talk with online, so when I'm not on the computer, it also means that I can't talk with them, which is not something that I enjoy at all.

Melda, I flatter you not. Flattery implies falsehood, and I firmly meant everything I said about Crystal. Be proud. :)

I know what you mean... when I'm here in the UAE, I've got friends in the states and Yemen to email... when I'm in the states... I've got people here to email and miss like crazy.
And both places there are people in Yemen, India, and all over the world I miss like crazy, some of which I can't even email because they live in small villages in India who still get most of their water from a pipe out in the middle of the village...
I'm rambling, I'll shut up now.

... maybe tonight I'll finally come up with a really good RP idea... one that won't die...
Ha. I doubt it...
but dreams sometimes bring amazing things.

Sometimes it's not the idea that matters. Personally, I think that the factors that make an RPG live a long time have to be a combination of things - the starting idea can be very basic and still succeed, but you need people who are committed, and a certain flexibility to the plot. Characters that play off each other well are important, too - you can't have a group of identical people and hope to make things interesting. The list could go on...but I don't think it's just the idea that makes a good RPG.

Agreed with Melda. If the idea is interesting enough to bring in the people, that's really all it needs to be. Once you have the people who enjoy RPing together and find fun ways to advance the plot, it almost goes of it's own accord.

Sounds like what happened to me. I was on top of things as far as RPing went on this one homeschool forum I'm on and then they all died and were restarted at the same time that RPGs got out of hand and are now all locked. I hope to be a part of a surviving one here.

EDIT- I agree with Melda too. The main problem I'm having is the fact that I don't know people here and they don't know if I'm new to RPGing or not or if I am sensible enough to know what I do if things don't go my way in an RP.

Of course :)

You know, one of these times someone is going to be like "Can I join?" and I'll be like "NO. You are not permitted to be in this club. We shun you" just to be different :P

Welcome to the club! Erm, Guild. Same difference.

I can heartily agree with Reindeer about lack of time to RP, which does majorly annoy me. However, time waits for no man, and I suppose I have to manage. I'm debating putting another RP up, and literally writing myself into a contract to keep it alive, but I have to think of a suitable idea first.

And SC ftw. Just off to read the latest posts.
Hah, yeah you're right. I think I've also seen another Maethor around too.

Welcome DarkMelda to the RPGers Guild!

I really feel like RPGing right now but all the RPGs that manage too stay on the first page of Sharky's End are all started and I'd really like too be apart of the production of the RPs I'm in.
