The princess set her jaw and tipped her head in affirmation, black hair falling forward to veil her face. "So be it."

(Nah. ) Galen nodded his own tip of the head in response. "I will inform the elders of your wishes personally, princess."

~*~ Later ~*~ The assorted retirees, wizened priests, and fossilized captains who made up the eldest and highest-status members of Tribe Sea Blue present in Umbar came together to hear Waqqasa's argument and pass judgment. Immune to her charms, they seemed universally annoyed, as much by the impingement upon their time as by the lavish sum it cost to hold court. After perfunctory debate and cross-examination, casting Waqqasa out into the street as a traitor was rejected, but a split remained between those favoring appealing to the new Serpent Lord for clemency, and those who believed selling the impudent princess into slavery would provide a salutary lesson to any other claims to the snake bone throne. Omnia politely requested to speak on Waqqasa's behalf.

Galen stood by in wonderment at the reaponse of the court. He, too, would speak in the deffence of the princess if need be, but he thought Omnia might be more elequent. He was a man of actions not words... Which was often a downfall of his.
