Completely edited postI did post here last night but this thread spurred me to catalogue my books. Taken about 6 hours to do it and I haven't got all of my books. There are some still dotted around bookshelves in the house and a lot of my childhood books are in the loft. I've tried to remember as many as a I can from the loft but I cba with going up there to have a look at them because it will be freezing.
Anyway, the following is a list of nearly all of my books. I've tried to organise them into fiction and non-fiction and then historical fiction, fantasy etc. However, some authors have books in different genres so I've just lumped them together. For example, Manda Scott. Most of her books that I've got are historical fiction (although they're classed as fantasy in America because Americans can't comprehend 2000 years ago as being historical so they have to have it as fantasy (NOT MY WORDS! Manda herself told me that! ) ) but two of her books that I've got (Nightmares and No Good Deed) are crime books but in this list I've put them with her other books because it's easier for me.
I feel like a quick explanation is needed for some of my stranger books... I did classical civilisation at A level. That's where we studied Ancient Greek and Roman literature in English translations. However, I have a bit of a hobby of collecting older books which are written in Greek/Latin as well as having the English translations I used for college.
So here we go!
Firstly, the oldest book I have is some sort of learning English book made for schoolchildren in Russia. So the title is in Russian and I can't read the type-face. It has English, Russian and Greek inside it. It was printed in St Petersburg in 1801. The gods only know how it ended up in our house but we found it when we did a massive chuck out of books (over 500 in total *sobs* ) a few years ago. I insisted on keeping it because it's so strange. I'll take photos of it sometime and put them in here.
Now onto my other books.

I've got a lot of cookbooks and there are some really random books that I can't be bothered to list. So far the list I've complied is numbering to 376 books. I'm going to keep on adding to it as I keep finding my books from whenever they've ended up in the house.

(And obviously as I keep on buying books. ) I've worked out that about 50 or so of the books listed above are books brought as presents for me or (mainly in the case of Enid Blyton and the Redwall series) are hand-me-downs from my siblings. All the other books I've brought in the last 5 years.
