Orighty, my friend put me up to this. He's gonna post this poll on his favourite forum, as I will mine. (I love A-U! ) Even though it's a silly question... The question is though.
Do you think Elvish is worthless and un-needed? Why?
I don't think it's worthless at all. I think it's an awesome way for us crazy fans to really get into LotR and enjoy it! Plus, it's alot cooler then any rela languages.
Well what'da you guys think? ...

Nope I don't think it's worthless at all ... in a few years, who knows? If enough people like Tolkien and his Languages, then maybe people can actually communicate fluently in the language one day

I started studying elvish about a year ago, and now am generally acknowledged by my friends to be an expert. I wouldn't say that's quite true, but I'm fairly well versed in it... and it ROCKS FOREVER. It's totally awesome! I use it all the time. My username isn't in elvish, but in other places I am known as Elraen, "wandering star." I've created elvish names for all my friends, and some of them use those names as their internet identities. I'm constantly studying it, and now have almost all the pronounciation rules memorized. Elvish forever!!!!

Me too! I've given them their own individual elvish names, but they think I'm whackos. *makes hand gesture to show mentalness* They say I'm crazy when I tell them I'm learning elvish. *is sad* Of course, I try to ignore them!

Most of my friends think it's really neat, and some of them asked for their names A few of them have even been inspired by my studies to learn a few elvish words and phrases. Which is a little weird, considering I wouldn't even count them as true Ringers...

Aw you so lucky, but since I'm the only Lotr obsessed person in my class (probably the whole school too) it's quite hopeless...although I'm not giving up! One of my best friends has shown -some- interest in lotr. *grins*

^ Yes I was saying that exact thing about Elvish becoming an official language and they were like, "You know you're nutters, right?"

Lotr fans who speak elvish will probably end up the butt of jokes like startrek fans who speak klingon
