Mine too! I hated that part. My knuckles went pure white I was holding on to my seat so hard to keep myself from bawling at that part. I hated it. But I loved it at the same time.

I couldn't stand it... I think it was, I suppose, a very well-done scene... but it kills me to watch it. I can't stand seeing people in pain.

As I've said before (and will likely say again) I loved the whipping scene!
So much emotion to it...one of Orlando's best scenes (which is saying something, as I'm not a huge Orlando fan), as well as Stellan's. Yay for father-son scenes!

Admittedly, that was some of the most amazing acting I've ever seen Orlando do. That was the one high point for me. Other than that... yeah, as I have said several times before, I don't like seeing people in pain.

Diddo! I liked that scene! It was one of Orlando's best. and I also love father-son scenes
Me myself I love lotr Fanfiction, and I have read many angasty ones about Leggy, ans this was the fist time I got to see Olrando act-out pain...really, leggy has zero pain in lotr, not eaven a sratch.
But I did think it wierd that the pain lasts in that one scene, and thats all, he never acts like he is in pain whenever anything tuches his back for the rest of the movie, not even when he gets tossed in the salty seawater...that seemed odd to me.

that is a bit odd....
my friend thought that the bit about him beign whipped was stupid, she has the idea that there is going to be a huge fight thingy between Will and his father because of the whipping...i thought it was a neat part and it will give number 3 some twists and turns

That part was not stupid, it gave Will more meaning and personality.

Yeah, I know, it was far from stupid. It was one of my favourite scenes.

Well, here's why I don't like it in three words: I'm a Christian.
I don't think any Christian should like seeing people in pain. I mean, I understand that's not what you all like about the scene; but I think that makes the scene... unwatchable. Not to mention I think it was way too dark for a PotC movie!

I'm Chirstian too, but, I still like that scene. I just thought it was very emtoional and had some great acting.
But, let's not get into religion and stuff.

^Yeah, I wasn't saying any more than that.
I'll agree about the great acting. Orlando's getting better and better.
