I didn't learn much about it either. A lot of the time, for several years, some of the things my contemporaries talked about went straight over my head. I understand most of it now though. And I think that attitude of telling a child the minimum they need to know is the right thing. just so they can understand what is happening to them.

Yes! Tell them in little bits, so that they have a child-hood and become adults when they need to be.

I come from a relatively open family and me'n'mom have been talking about gwroing up and pregnancy for ever since. I was 6 and I knew what periods is, I knew how a child 'is made' and lots of stuff concerning adolescence/adulty
I think it's very good to inform your kids about things like that and have as little taboos as possible because it won't do anything good if you refuse to talk about growing up and such

Exactly Elfe. Too many parent's are uncomfortable talking about the facts of life with their children. This makes growing up extremely hard on the child, especially if they haven't been forewarned as to what they should expect. Growing up is something parents should be open about and willing to share their experiences of, not taboo that we keep in the dark and never speak of. Growing up is a wonderful thing if you know what to expect.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with what everyone says here, the mentionig things when they happen is good advice. I don't know what happened to me. My parents told me a little bit when I had my first er..*ahem*..when I was twelve...it was actually my dad who told me...LOL!!..I think my mum was a bit embarrased! Since then all has been pretty quiet, I don't think they worried too much, as I don't meet people, but I think they probably know, that being 19 and having common sense and a few years on the internet...:eyeroll:...

Yeah!
I love it that my was able to talk to me about puberty and stuff.
But to tell you the trtuh the whole "where babies come from" and all things related to that topic, I learned in school. From stupid conversations my freinds have. I actualyl was, i guess you can say, exposed, to these conversations as far back as the third grade, but didnt exactly pay attention. I learned it all in 6th grade, when I entered middle school. And had older poeple riding my school bus. Yeah....I lost all innocence in these things in the 6th grade.

I think it's sort of sad, for all kids and stuff.
*sigh*

BTW, JF, I really like your winter Ball banner.

People talk about sex (which should be a good thing from what others have told me :P) too dirtily, mark it as a bad and improper thing.. Nah. We need a way to make descendants and survive methinks.

I totally agree!
But when you learn about it from people besides adults and parents, and you learn from people at school, who are talking about it dirtily.
It's not the impression you want to have.

Of course it would help if we kept making little peoples. :]

Yeah.
And those who talk about it like that usually have no clue on the whole thing...

True. I got my little education from school (both reliable and unreliable sources). My mother seemed unwilling to contribute anything to it (not that I asked or anything). Oh, well...what's done is done and at least I know how life begins.

^That's the most important thing. :)

I like what you said Elfe, about the bad image people give sex today. It's seen as such a bad, improper thing in some cases, and in others it's as if those involved just need something to do. So many people talk about it dirtily and roughly, as if it's a way to show domination over the opposite gender. But it's not. Too many children and adolescents are getting that bad message.

It's supposed be something shared between two people who love eachother. Something they both agree to and are comfortable with. There should be no pain involved for either person. Bodily union is supposed to be a treasured moment between man and wife. Sadly, that's not how it always is.

*gets off soapbox once again*

Ah, it came about when long ago the A-U Gentlemen's club started, the girls started up thier own A-U Gentlewomen's Society.

A dipute began between the two clubs: spying and evilishly things.

Until finally, Scarlet Storm started the club to reunite both male and female members and bring peace once again to the "Clubs" Sub-forum.

haha, that was fun. :-)
