Yeah, the long lengths can be a bit of a problem, but it is so worth it for such wonderful movies!

I did think that they could've and should've shorted DMC. It kind of dragged a little.

I will say there were a few parts that really didn't need to be there, but much of it was flowing the story and setting the audience up for number 3. I think they did just what they needed to length wise.

I think they should have cut out the entire island thing. It did nothing for the plot.

I loved the cannibal island part. That was really the only funny part in the movie for me. I don't particularly care if it went along with the plot or not but then I never do when it comes to movies as long as it's entertaining.

Actually, the writers have said that the whole Pelegostos scene does have a major role in the story. When we first find out that Jack isn't safe on the sea, logic indicates that he should simply stay on land (which he does, in fact, try to do). However, as soon as he does reach land, he just ends up in even bigger trouble, showing that he can't just run away from this problem. The first scene after the island (when he's negotiating with Will) is a pivotal point for the story because Jack is no longer simply running- he now has a plausible plan and a real chance of getting out of this alive. Without Pelegostos Island, there's no plot for the rest of the film. It also just provides a nice nod back to the "And then they made me their chief" line. The whole reason Jack already knew their language was that he'd been there before and named chief.

I don't necessarily agree...I mean, they would have to be really careful to do them properly, but if they did new Pirates movies wouldn't be all bad. I'm open to the idea.

Did anyone see the Pirate Rap from Epic Movie on myspace? For the rest of the day after watching that I was like, "Word to the cracken!"

Yes, I really don't want a few third-rate flops to ruin such a great franchise.
