Ok so it wasn't terrible. If they made it all up and it wasn't from a book then it would be a B grade movie with A grade effects. It's not like this is the first time that's happen true enough. But you'd think with all the hype about Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter and Narnia that they would have at least tried to do a quality job on it and actually get people who know what they are doing, and I mean in all areas not just the acting. I just think the movie was premature and rushed and generally not as good as they could have made it. (Or not good at all in my opinion because I believe that any movie that isn't great is a wast of time. Especially one that I have to pay 6 and a half bucks to see.)

Hey if I'd paid 11.50 for it I'd have demanded my money back cuz it was so not worth it.

*laughs* I went to the cheapest theater that had it opening day and payed $3. I really think that's not half bad! I would easily have paid three times that much.

Well, I saw it yesterday...and I loved it!

I'm not that big of a movie critic....mainly because half the time I can't understand the words. (stupid deafness)

I do have to agree that it was rushed. Just as I got into the scene...they jumped to the next...

also...when Durza was talking to his army, my friend leaned over and said, "He needs chapstick." And of course I was cracking up.

Saphira!! I loved her baby form....she was soooo cute!!!

Arya..annoyed me a bit. She was fine mostly, but her weakness was a bit annoying.

And where were the other characters?! It seems the movie only focused on a few things:Eragon, Saphira, Arya, and a few other things.

And that's what I got to say about Eragon.

Meriadoc, I loved your review on the previous page! I totally agree. And it's ironic what you said about your brothers liking it, because my little brother loved it. [though it's easier for him since he hasn't read the book]

I'm going to agree partially with Meldawen that it wasn't a horrible movie. It wasn't the best movie, but I think there are probably people who haven't read the books that will really like it. The first half I thought was okay. Carvahall was really nice and all. The dialogue was a little cheesy sometimes at the end, but it wasn't that bad.

Kudos to Kitoky for the fabulous signature set, and art credit to engelszorn.

^^Yes, exactly what I'm talking about, thanks Nie. Okay, so the dialogue was a bit cheesy in parts, and maybe some of the costumes could have been better, but was it really such a horrible movie as everyone's making it out to be? I don't think so.

I didn't think it was horrible either. I HAVE read the books, but I told myself from the beginning that I would think of it as a movie with a similar plotline, and not an adaptation from the book. Otherwise I would have exploded. As a movie I'd give it about an 8 out of 10.

I thought the movie was good, there were only a few things I would change AS A MOVIE itself.

1- the battle scene. More! Battles are cool! They should've had more ground fighting, not just the air battle.

2- slow down. I think they should've taken a bit more time to develop the relationship between Brom and Eragon, showing more swordfighting, learning the elven words, etc. That way, you would feel it more when Brom dies. The way they have it, you don't feel a whole lot of sympathy because Brom had just been harsh and aloof most of the time.

3- bit more Murtagh. Though maybe that's just a fangirl part of me. But I thought he should've had a bit bigger part.

But I have no clue if they expect to make a second one from Eldest, if they are they have a lot of catching up to do in that movie.

^I haven't even heard if they're going to make it. If Eragon doesn't make enough money, they probably won't go with it.

With all the stuff that's missing from the first movie though.. I doubt the second one will actually work.
