Aye, I agree. Even though, at least for me, it can be a bit scaring, I think it is very important that you know your date exists and that you talk to him/her. Just out of curiosity, does anyone get cold feet when they are trying to talk to a particular person they are fond of?

@ RA: Got it from Aramel's doll thread in the Request Board.
Ah, cold feet, as in you get nervous or you kind of doubt yourself? Aye, happens to me all the time. Happens to everyone I'm sure. Everyone gets nervous, it's a human reaction.

Yea...when im nervous around someone I like, I tend to stumble on what im saying....its horrible! :O Your trying to not act stupid around the guy then you do cuase your nervous.... ah...anyway...dunno if this was asked here already, but how can you tell when someone likes you if there the type of person who is emotionally stable and doesn't show emotions that much...? well not dramatizing affection like the popular personality people do...

I'm afraid the answer to that question is you can't. If you could, it would be much easier. You just have to watch and listen, and draw conclusions from what you see and hear. That is what I'm doing. But that isn't conclusive, you often get crossed, conflicting, and incorrect messages. The obvious way to find out is to ask people who are close to the person in question, and see if you can get anything that way.
That is just my opinion, and with my degree of experience on these matters, I wouldn't trust it Basically, it is all guesswork

Darrell said it all for me. Unless you're very good at percieving, and you know how that person acts, then I suppose it will be quite impossible. But then there's some people....who just make it SO obvious. X_X
as for caunion's question: I actually don't. I happen to like someone right now, and if i see him from far away and im with my friends, I'll squeal. xD. But when I see him in my 7th period, in class, we talk like normal people, and i'm quite inconspicous. xD
and to tie the two questions together, i'm quite a good actress when it comes to hiding my feelings from him. :]
but anywaaaaays

^ I guess I'm the same and I'd rather die than admit or show my true feelings ... Oh dear, I'm so Mary-Sueish, can't you tell?

Well, I've tried to read emotions on girls' faces but it is a bit difficult at times, unless they are really agitated (they tend to show that quite clearly). But really it's hard. I try to hiding my emotions but I can't so I just display the face that I am bored and tired and that usually works. One thing I incredibly dislike about infatuations is that you fall for one girl, you feel you have to have her even though you know there are hundreds of girls out there that can, more or less, match your type.....(please tell me if I have some logic and reason in what I'm saying or if I lost it completely)

I mean, even from girl to girl it can be difficult. Even when girls act agitated, they may not be! Maybe they're just wanting attention, which is the case a lot of times. If I want attention, I'll pretend that I'm tired. Then I don't have to engage myself in conversation if I'm around the guy I like. I totally get what you're saying! I hate how I fall head over heels for any guy who simply talks to me! And then if I see another girl hanging around that guy, I get mad, like I actually think that he belongs to me. *rolls eyes* I just can't help it, I guess...or it feels that way, at least.

^Yeah. I know that feeling.
I especially hate it when the crush really isn't much of anything. I don't think I've ever really, really liked someone, just little crushes here and there. But they really tire you out! Moving from one to the other, the jealousy, and for me anyway, the guilt of knowing how ridiculous you're being...it's tiring I can't imagine if I added dating into the mix.
I'd explode

I'm totally the same, I freak out whenever I see a girl talking to the boy I'm crushing on, even if she's his sister. I don't think I'd like to date anyone as the poor guy'd probably feel caged having a girlfirend like me lol

I wouldn't like to date anyoen because life is already hectic enough. If I ever find someone I'm really into, sure. But most people I know date for the sake of dating, going out with those two-minute crushes we're discussing. They're obsessed for a day or two, then there's drama over the break-up, then they're depressed, then there's someone new. I see it alll the time with the guys in my percussion class in band. I stopped trying to keep track of their love lives long ago.

Well... I'm just a lurker... but I'd say that the best way to ask someone out on a date.. nevermind starting a relationship.. would be to make friends with them first. I'm not saying become their best friend, or anything; but just get to know them properly. I hate being really openly flirted with... I'm not prude, it's just my way... and I prefer subtle things, like little smiles.
Before you agree to 'go out' with someone, girl or guy, I really do think that at LEAST getting to know each other is essential. Otherwise... it'd just end up so boring.
That also gets rid of cold feet, which could essentially ruin a date.

Yeah, I know. 'omg!!!!111 look at my new love!!!1! hes liek my luv 4 ewa!'
Cmon. Every single day I hear that and it's killing me. ;_; Either that or 'You have no bf??? You're weird.' Oh man. I know it takes me a long time to fall in love (no, I don't believe in love at first sight) and much longer to get out of it and that already makes me strange among those :bleepity: girls. They're turning love into a commercial

Very much agreed. The "you don't have a boyfriend?" stares are quite annoying.
Honestly, I really would not mind if I didn't date until I met the one guy who I'd fall in love with for life and marry. Anything before that seems sort of pointless, boring, and aggravating. Why go through all the stress and pressure of relationships when its not even going to last?

^Ha.. I agree wholeheartedly. My friends were talking about guys and they were all telling each other how many boyfriends they've each had so far.. and when they asked me, I said.. "None at all.. I'm pure." and they just gave me the most genuinely horrified expressions and they were in literal shock at the fact that I'm in grade 10 and I've never had a boyfriend.
I don't think it's necessary at all.. as Riniel said, what are the chances that I'm going to end up marrying anyone that I date now? It's stupid.. and there's too much responsibility and dedication involved, and if you just talked to another guy, your boyfriend would automatically think that you were cheating. I'd rather do what I want on my own time and not have to worry about pleasing my boyfriend and keeping him happy.
Enjoy the single life, girls. =)
