Personally, I think an RP works better when everyone is involved in advancing the plot, not just the creator. So a certain amount of your own personal twist is often a good thing so that the creator doesn't have to force things along. But I do agree that sometimes it goes a little too far.
Oh, another thing that bugs me - when someone else does about three million things in the same post without ever giving your character a chance to react. Lots of description is fine, but don't shoot a million arrows and jump down and stab someone and run away all in the same post. RPing should be like writing a story, and that's not.

^Welcome, Dakara! I'm sure LDM will add you to the list soon.
I agree with you, Melda, everyone helping with the plot is good. That also bugs me when somebody post a whole bunch. I'm left sitting helplessly at the computer, thinking, I could've responded there...or there...or there... lol But then, there's a balance between too much and not enough. *shakes head* RPing can be confuzzling at times. lol

And talking about what bugs us in RPs in confoozling too. LoL.
I guess I don't mind people changing the plot if nothing is happening.

Plot changes have to be good, to put it simply. We just had a really great plot change thing in the Phantom RP when a bunch of bounty hunters tried to take our heads! It was well done, so i had a lot of fun! I got to use my horse. (I love my horse!)
Sudden plot changes that completely change the whole story and give it a whole new tone ruin the story! The story was ment to be one way, please don't change it.
Though now that Shadowcat mentioned it, if an RP has bombed, a plot change mey help it along.

Haha. Everyone contributing to the plot. Kind of like Star Crystal? Oh wait. No. I'm not really contributing there. Of course, that will change.
My Star Wars RPG is going downhill because of that plot thing--nobody's really doing anything to advance the plot (not just the main one, but even side plots), so I'm getting really bored of making all the posts that advance the story.

I just posted in Rift in Time, and I'll try to come up with an opening post for End of an Era, if nobody does before me. lol I'm not sure what to post in Quest for the Great Ones, though.

Lol, Ellie. I think Quest for the Great Ones doesn't have much of a chance. I suppose I could do something if LDM posts, but other than that, I'm at a loss.
As for A Rift In Time, well, I got around to posting there.

I'll catch up with it all this weekend, I swear. I have to get off now though. If I get on again, I'll try.
EDIT - posted in Rift. I got no inspiration for Quest, but I'll try to come up with a spontaneous plot twist unless one of you already has one. and waiting for something to happen in Archway

*Groan* Today was, in a word, horrible. I gleaned a desperate half hour of time on MSN, had to whizz off (and I was slightly late for Bible study because two minutes before we left I was typing about a million words per minute to try and get in a Crystal post) and when I got home at about 9:30 I had another half hour to type feverishly. And I still didn't get to Rift. And I have a bad feeling I missed something else as well. Don't hurt me, guys...

Haha. Archway isn't going so well. I think we might end up skipping to some point further along our quest, where skirmishes are more likely. Or something like that.
Yeah, you two were just...absent yesterday. I was able to stay on the computer until 11:30 PM (my time, of course), and neither of you got on. 'Twas so boring. There was practically zero activity here.

....I could go hit Thanfield with an alien again. That's always fun.
Or I could wait until I have something more to think about in Winter's half-sane style.

RPer of the Month Post your nominations in this thread, along with AT LEAST one reason stating why you think this person should be RPer of the Month. Anyone with a nomination, please post it regardless of whether your person has already been nominated before you had a chance to post. (I may just count up the nominations this time instead of creating a poll.)
... A hard choice, but I nominate Aerandir It always seems that you can whip up a long, engaging post out of absolutely nothing to work with. You're always contributing your unique character's interesting viewpoint and ideas, and none of your posts are ever pointless.

Gah, so many people I could nominate...
I'll have to think about this one. [stalks RPers]
