I get addicted to books. I've used books to bribe myself to get out of bed in the morning ("if you do, you'll be able to read x!"), and I've gone to multiple libraries trying to find a particular book and I've read under the desk / during study periods. Sometimes it's being addicted as in finding the book hard to put down, or wanting to read it again (and again), or just finding that I'm constantly thinking about it, the characters and the situation.
Sometimes it's an ongoing thing - such as it's a book I'll love forever, and sometimes I just find myself addicted to a book until I've finished it / the series / made my friends read them.

I'll use the word obsession to describe it, sometimes, because I think I am obsessive about things.
