^It's still annoying... I'm a purist.
"28 Weeks Later"
THAT WAS AWESOME. AMAZING. FANTASTIC. I loved every second. I was scared to death that they wouldn't do justice to the first one, but they did. *Cheers*
And the huge amounts of gore made me happy.

I just finished The Lion King about half an hour ago. I'm in a weird mood right now. And I was watching Bringing Up Baby (great comedy from the 70's with Carey Grant and Katherine Hepburn) but I had to stop it.

i also started watching rebecca, which was on because it would have been daphne du maurier's 100th birthday this month too. unfortunately i had to switch channels half way through as any dream will do was on, but i'll watch it again when i get home because i love it so. laurence olivier is simply wonderful as maxim (incidentally, it's his centenary this month too, but i guess they'll mark it nearer the time).
wow, that was an unnecessarily long post.
Hah, I knew it was her 100th birthday today, but it never clicked why they were showing some of her films. Incidentally, this is also the 40th anniversary year of the death of Spencer Tracy.
Oh, I really like Poitier's character.
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington - really great film. I don't quite understand all the politics behind it, and it's a little bit too flag-waving for me..... but it has some fantastic performances from the one and only Jimmy Stewart, Claude Rains (I ♥ him) and Jean Arthur.
@ Ánië Súrion - Oh my, I LOVE Bringing Up Baby. It's in my top ten greatest films. Two of my favourite ever actors together, it's pure joy. I think you'll find it was made in 1938 though.

oh, yeah. i knew he died just after making guess who's coming to dinner, and i knew it was made in 1967, but i'd failed to put two and two together and realise that that makes it the 40th anniversary of his death. i can be a bit dim occasionally.

"The Prestige."
Damn. That is one good movie! It is really one of those movies that is awesome to watch a second time--many times. Hurray for Christian Bale being so freakin' hot.
