Hi guys! How did I not know this club was here???

Well...I have like a work sheet of math that needs to be done by 5...about 5 and a half hours away and I have *no idea* how to do it.

It's Algebra 1...should be easy right? But not for me. Dang math dyslexia >.< *kills Math dyslexia* :P

Okay so here's the first problem (I don't know how to do fractions so I'll just use / :P)

5/3y = 10

*stupid*

Here you go:

(5/3)y = 10

Multiply each side by 3 to get rid of the fraction:
3 x (5/3)y = 10 x 3
> 5y=30

Divide each side by 5:
5y/5=30/5
> y=6

There you go. ;)

I have a question...For a project in Algebra II we have to write a short story about a day in the life of a math property. If all math properties were to be real people, which one would be a private eye? When I say math propery, I mean anything from pythagorean theorem to exponents to the number 3.

I don't really remember them all that well, but I would look for one that:

>Watches out for flaws.
>Is exceptionally generalized.
>is like a basis for math...

Oh! I think the Order of Operations would work for that..

Hey everyone!!
I need help urgently. I have an English exam on Friday and I need someone to explain me how to analyse fictional/ non-fictional texts (no poems or dramas). The text we will get will probably be about New York.. I hope anyone can help me.

Well, you usually start with an introduction naming the text's title, the author, the date when it was published etc. and its topic. If it's a non-fictional text, you usually divide it into different paragraphs and summarize each part in a very short manner. Then you analyse the things you're required to have a look at and eventually say something about rhetorical devices and the use of language (formal, colloquial). And in the end you have a conclusion summarizing the most important points of your analysis again. I hope that helped you. :)

Thanks very much, Rose of Rivendell.. I wrote my exam today and I tried to do all the things you told me. I didn't have enough time for everything though, so I may have made some stupid mistakes, but what you've written definitely helped me :)

^*Giggles*

Okay guys, I have a boat load of math questions but they aren't due til Thursday afternoon but this time I've decided not to procrastinate!!! :D
Just for a disclaimer, incase anyone wonders why I have just a year a school left and am in Algebra 1, I've been acing all my classes except math which has been holding me back, so I was told to take a year off a math and hold it off til my last year of school but before i start my last year to go back so now I have a teacher that is basically giving me the basics of each thing and hopefully we'll be finished with Algebra 1 and 2 and Geometry by July.
Now with all the rushing, no one is really explaining anything to me, they just say "do these 50 worksheets in a week" :P They gave me all the answers so I can like walk through it and see how I can get that answer...well, yeah that's cool but...I don't know what I'm doing so how can I walk through them??? :P
So yeah...I was hoping you guys could help me walk through some of them so I can get an idea of what I'm doing...Thanks guys, it helps SO MUCH. *clings*
Anyways...

For one worksheet I've finished them all except one problem:
0.02y - 2.6 = 0.82 (Answer: 172)

Next worksheet...yay for word problems. (Sarcasm)

I have to do 1-15 questions but I've only been able to do about half of them...I'll post three to try and get an idea...

5 is what percent of 9? (Answer: 55 5/9%)

40% of what number is 20? (Answer: 50)

A parking meter contained 22 quarters and 18 dimes. The number of dimes is what percent of the number of quarters? (Answer: 81 9/11%)

Next worksheet...(sorry!!!)

I have to do 1-17...I'll post three again.

-5x + 15 > -20 (Answer: x <7> 8r - 11 (Answer: r < 5)

8 - 5e < -6e + 10 (Answer: e < 2)

I have three other worksheet thingys but I'll post them tomorrow because I feel bad for throwing all of this at you!!! :(

Thank you guys soooo much again!!! *hugs*
