Before Elizabeth, there was only 1 other pirate king, and that would be the one they're talking about in the song. That is because usually every pirate lord would vote on him/herself to be the king... because they all want to be the king... but Jack changed that so Elizabeth became king.
Also, Davy Jones thought that Calypso betrayed him by turning him into a squid-face... but he did that to himself by not doing his job(chartering soals to the other side). So, since he thought that she betrayed him, he told the Brethren court how to bind Calypso into a human form.
Man, I hope I'm right... but that's what I gathered from the movie! lol!
Ahh... Touché, my friend. But, if I may offer a machete to your intellectual thicket...
There was one pirate king before Lizzie, true, but who's to say it wasn't Jones?
And, in a way, Calypso did do it to him because she wasn't there waiting for him after ten years. My sources say that if she had been waiting, he would've been free.
And your argument, which is very fine, indeed, still doesn't answer how Calypso is Queen with out Jones being Pirate King. Or how she is referred to as Queen because you don't say King and Queen for two completely unrelated monarchs.

Hm... but the Flying Dutchman isn't a pirate ship... and the Brethren court is pirates... spacifically why it's call "Pirate King" or Pirate Lord... which ever.
And you could be right with the Calypso thing with her not waiting for him, so he didn't do his job, and turned into a squid face, and told the brethren court how to bind her(because in the movie they specifically say that Jones told them how to bind her).
Also, I've heard the sea goddess also called the queen of the sea... but who knows! lol!
Also, about Jack Sparrow... His whole character is based off Keith Richards! (bandana, and alot of stuff in the hair) Who is also a guitar player in a rock band(my dad's a fan of his band...) So, he thought it was really cool when they had Keith play his dad. Also, he thought it was interesting that they had him play a little guitar in the movie(because he's a guitar player in real life).

^BTW, Calypso isn't even a goddess. She was a naiad.
FD is a pirate ship. It was as soon as he quit his duty, he was a pirate then.

*shrugs* I am not the all knowing... I get things wrong. Hm... FD was a pirate ship? why? Because he was pirating soals? lol... sorry, just had to say that...
Yeah, it's a really confusing matter! Very debatable with those with the right info... I've only seen it once and am going by week old memory! lol!

I wonder how one tells if he's talking to you... or him.

No idea... Probably if he's talking and not in-your-face-in-that-Jack-sorta-way then he's talking to him. I guess.. lol!

Well... that in-your-face-in-that-Jack-sorta-way is sorta like how he's talking to everyone at the end of CotBP! Yeah... He's usually got his eyes wide talking to you, looking straight at you, and leaning forward toward you, and occasionaly leaning back... and moving his hands at you...
When he's talking to other hims, he's looking not at you... and looking at pretty much nowear and asking strange questions that he answers himself... lol!

"Now we're being followed by rocks. Never heard that before."
I love how perfect the song is, honestly. The whole song, I mean. And, simply for fun, I'm going to post it (though I think it's been posted already).
The king and his men
stole the queen from her bed
and bound her in her Bones.
The seas be ours
and by the powers
where we will well roam.
Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the Colors high.
Heave ho, thieves and beggars,
never shall we die.
Some men have died
and some are alive
and others sail on the sea
– with the keys to the cage...
and the Devil to pay
we lay to Fiddler's Green!
The bell has been raised
from it's watery grave...
Do you hear it's sepulchral tone?
We are a call to all,
pay head the squall
and turn your sail toward home!
Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the Colors high...
Heave ho, thieves and beggars,
never say we die.

I love it, too. It really made me mad though when, on another forum, I was first to put it in my sig and then... BAM! everyone stoles it! UGH!

I stole the idea from Rain.
Great song, though. How can you resist?

Haha! Yeah, Tar! Though I'm thinking where you got it... from me from Nurr's request thread, right?
And oh yeah! It's an awesome song! If you sing it right, it's really creepy in a cool way that gives you goosebumps and you're like "Cooooollll..." lol!

*lol* I probably had it first here, too. I put it in at around 12 AM on the 24th, then took it out because I was mad. Oh well. At least I still say "Hoist The Colors"
