About a Boy.

I will now be listening to Badly Drawn Boy and singing Killing Me Softly for the next 24 hours. Or at least 2. :P

Seriously though, I love the movie.

I have seen quite a few films recently.

Marty - I really love this film. It's a pleasure to have it in my film collection. Fantastic acting and a wonderful heart warming, believable story. Proof there is hope for people out there who are plain or ugly. Delightful film. Ernest Borgnine is truly a star. * * * * *

Ocean's Eleven - This film keeps growing on me everytime I watch it. I haven't seen the re-make so I'm not going to start saying this version is better, because I don't know. What I will say is, is that I hate it in films, when people who rob banks, without killing or harming anyone, never get the loot. In that respect, I think the re-make is better as at least they get away with it. But as it's to do with the time when this was made, I'll have to live with it. It's a clever story with some wonderful acting. I especially like the ad-libbing between the Rat Pack actors, and the way you can see they are all friends. * * * *

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End - I just had to see this again (if not to get a collection of quotes). Loved it just as much as last time, if not more. I'm a lot happier with certain aspects of it now, and I understand it a lot more. I think the whole scene from the colours being hoisted before the battle to the actual end of the battle, is one of the most uplifting, rousing and utterly fantastic scenes I have seen in any film ever. It's akin to a few of the battle scenes in LOTR, and the for me, is saying something. Don't care if it's all CGI, I was too engrossed in the world of POTC to realise or care. * * * * *

Shenandoah - Forgotten how good this film really is. Sort of western/Civil War drama with a truly great performance from the star that is Jimmy Stewart. The film itself has a good story and some fantastic action sequences that do leave you with a taste of what the Civil War meant to the soldiers who didn't want to be there and the ordinary towns people, who didn't want it happening. James Stewart is what keeps the film ticking though. * * * *

THE best version of that book EVER. Hands down. :notworthy:
Colin Firth IS Mr. Darcy. :swoon:

That's all I have to say about that.
XD

"Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End".
:P Yeah, I just had to see it again. And I just love it more than ever. Every time I see it, it just gets better and better. Even though this is only the second time I've seen it. :P *SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*

Where the Sidewalk Ends - Holy smokes what a great film! I love my film noir's and this is one I had never heard but what a film. Dana Andrews was so good in this, it makes me want to watch my only other film I have with him The Best Years of Our Lives. Tense, dark, atmospheric but above all a great story, script and great talent. I'd even rank this higher than my Humphrey Bogart film noir's.

Glad someone agrees. :D Colin Firth is Mr. Darcy. That's probably why I've been in love with him since about 7th grade. I'm so glad I own the movie. Even though it's five hours long, it's nice to be able to watch it.
