It was really a pity that many of the old members didn't join the new forum. It's just great here.
I wish I had joined A-U ealier, because I would have liked to see the old forum as well, but unfortunately it took me much to long to recognize this wonderful site. I can't imagine that I haven't googled for it earlier.

@Eä: Yes, I can imagine that it was really hard work, especially as there were fewer members. To be honest, when I joined I thought this forum would already exist for years, because of its enormous size. I've never seen a forum with so many members and so many threads before.

I didn't know the old forum still exists. It looks nearly the same like the new one, except for the layout and some sections that have been added.
It must have been great as well.
Wow, and there were also more 2, 600 members. I didn't know that there were so many users at that time. Do you know when it was online for the first time?

I think the old forum started sometime in 2004. I wasn't around at that time... I think it looks very different... Arwen is making even prettier layouts now and everything seems so ..squeezed together...
Err... but some of the older, than old members and moderators know a lot more about the old forum. It was kept for reference, just locked... I think some of said older than old members might still go there to be nostalgic, lol!

Yep, I agree. The layouts are really beautiful. I've first seen two of it (the spring one and the current one), but I absolutely adore them.
Well, I think it's nice for some of the old members, to read the stuff they posted two or more years ago. I think I could enjoy that as well, but it'll be too much work to bury out real old threads from the depths of the forum...

I've visited a link to the now-locked old forum before, but I was never a member there. I joined some time after this forum was created. Personally I like this one better...but then again, it's all I've ever had to work with.

Well, you're right. I'd prefer to be an Istari in this case as well (not concerning the number of posts, but the meaning of the title ).
I'm working towards 1500, but I rather like being an elf now than becoming a Ringwraith then, if you know what I mean.

Really? Ringwraith was an awesomely cool rank... I liked that more than Istari.. but I do have an issue with the Istari being plural instead of Istar

^I asked the question on the Suggestions and Comments board
When the ranks were changed, those in charge for putting the new ranks together chose Istari over Istar, simply because Istari is better known (since we always talk about the wizards in plural), so in order not to confuse people..!
