"Proud to Be an American" is a favorite of mine, but one of my very, very favorite's is a Toby Keith song... "The Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue (The Angry American)" Gotta love Redneck Patriotism.
I get back like... Saturday or sunday. Unsure of that as of now.

Off topic: I still can't figure out what that thing is in Patchwork.
On topic: Oh yes, that song is awesome! Toby Keith comes out with some great American songs! Um... I am trying to think of some more, but failing miserably. It is kind of weird that many patriotic songs are country.

Haha, the Toby Keith one is brilliant. That's American for you, folks.
But I've found that after having to translate every patriotic to Spanish (for class), I really would rather not hear any of them ever again.

I think the vast patriotic songs being country has to do with the fact that us southerners are VERY VERY VERY patriotic. I believe one of the first things to come from my mouth after "dada" and "mama" was "U.S.A."
I bleed red, white, and blue.

I think "God Bless America" is my fave one. I hear it all the time so it really sticks in your head.

Can I join? I was born in New Mexico... at two I moved to Florida, and just a few months ago moved to Tennessee!
I also like this one country song. I forgot the name and the singer but it goes "Where were you when the world stopped turning, that September day?"
yeah... I love the song "Proud to be an American" they played that every morning at one of my elementery schools...

I can sign that song. You know, sign language? That was a project of mine one year.

My mom probably could do that too... well, at least half of it. She's in the process of learning sign language.

The song's called "Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning?" by Allen Jackson. The man's a living legend. He actually wrote said song just days after 9/11.
(if you can't tell, I opted not to go to the lake.)

(Not to go to the lake... wait is that an answer to the Patchwork question or a statement about your current status?)
I think that I have heard that song before, Emri, but, unfortunately, I do not remember it.
Hmm... I am now realizing that I do not listen to much patriotic much. The only other one I can think of is "American Dream" by Casting Crowns.. but that really isn't patriotic and it more applied to people than a country.

How about Hole in the World by the Eagles? Also written about 9/11.
