Princess of Thieves. Keira did a lovely job, but I don't think I ended up liking Philip as much as I was supposed to.

i completely agree. the ending is probably one of my favourites because it doesn't veer off into improbably cheesiness, which would have been easy but awful. plus, gregory peck is rather swoonworthy.
last thing i watched was torn curtain. not hitch's best by a long shot, but still enjoyable. and i do love paul newman - i believe that's the fourth film of his i've watched this week (the others being cat on a hot tin roof, cool hand luke and the sting). gorgeous + talented + incredibly sexy = i'm swooning. _________________ <center>

Whoa, seen quite a few rcecently.
Unbreakable - This isn't my most favourite of all M. Night's Shyamalan's films, but it's an enjoyable enough film all the same, with some strong performances and some really good music. Not to mention the shock ending. ****
The Sixth Sense - I can see why most people think this is M. Night Shyamalan's best, and technically it is his best, and although I love it, and the story and the acting are all so great (Toni Colette is particlarly great), I think I miss the humour that you get in his other films, and as this is, I think the scariest, a little bit of humour probably would have helped. *****
Batman Begins - Awesome film. This is definitely my favourite of all the films adapted from comic books, mainly because you completely forget it is adapted from a comic book. It's just great that it's this one guy who's just getting all beefed up and has all these gadgets, and has the money, rather than someone who had something happen to them to make them superhuman. If you took out Katie Holmes (totally useless) this would be a cast to D-I-E for. Can't wait for the sequel! *****
Three Came Home - Considering this film was made in the 40's, I was quite surprised how graphic it was - foreign families living and working in Borneo when the Japanese took over, and were then placed in concentrations camps. I mean, obviously it wasn't completely true, because of the time it was made, but still it was quite impressive. Another example of wondering how the hell people had the courage and the spirit to live considering what they were going through. ****
A Night To Remember - If you actually want to know more about the Titanic, why she sank, run through all the "what if's" about that night, and actually want to see stories about real people, then forget the Hollywood schmaltz, Titanic and watch this instead. Admittedly th effects of the sinking aren't as good as Titanic, but for 1958, they ain't half bad! Really good cast with some great performances, who look so bewildered by what is happening to them, you can almost believe what you're seeing is real. ****
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - I prefer this film to the other film version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. More accurate than the other version, with all the songs taken from the book and a lot of the script as well, this if my preferred version, even though I saw the other one many, many years before, various times. Ok, so they added a few things that weren't in the books, but from what I hear Roald Dahl would have liked them, so that's Ok with me. Johnny Depp is superb as Willy Wonka. It's hard to believe you are watching the man who created Jack Sparrow, he is so different. I love seeing Wonka uncomfortable and strange, but then becoming sinister and looking like he actually puts an "act" on most of the time. The kids (other than Charlie) are abosultely revolting, so they did a very good job! ****
The Scarlet and the Black - This is one of those films I can watch again and again and again. A 1980's mini series starring Gregory Peck and Christopher Plummer and the battle between a priest from the Vatican and an SS officer during the WWII. Peck plays the priest who is resposible for 4000 espcaped prisoners hiding all over Rome, and Plummer as the SS officer, who sets out the catch him amd who eventually makes it his obsession. Wonderful performances from the two leads, and not a bad Irish accent from Peck either. *****
Murder in Coweta County - Johnny Cash as Sheriff Lamar Potts? Huzzah! You know he'll save the day. When the man who "owns" the county next door to Coweta, kills a man, he expects nothing to be done, as he owns everybody.... but there's a problem... he killed the man in Coweta.... and Sheriff Potts won't rest until he's got his man. I just love this film so much. Johnny Cash should have been in more films, he was so great in this. It's quite a slow paced film, but it's also quite tense and well worth watching if you like Johnny Cash. ****
National Treasure - This is such a fun, entertaining film. It reminds me a lot of the Mummy films (which I love) so this is probably why I like this. Nicolas Cage is really, really good in this, and quite funny as well. Riley could have been one of those annoying, whiny sidekicks, but he was really great as well. I still don't think I've figured out how they managed to understand the clues, but they obviously know what they are doing, so I don't it matters. Yay for the sequel! ****

The Invasion. I really didn't like it too much. It was all right (Daniel Craig was worth something like half of the ticket)
And before that, I saw Stardust. Now that was worth every penny of the ticket. I just liked Yvaine, being incredibly cheeky.

Wow. That was terrible. The only good actors were that kid who played Romulus, Wulfila and Demetrius (Because he was pretty hot. ). Other than that... It sucked.

Definitely. It could have been one of those cheesy typical romances ending with the sappy, over dramatic kiss, but instead it wasn;t. It was unconventional, but still conclusive enough. And as for Gregory Peck, I did find him rather swoonworthy at certain parts, mainly the part where they were all wet. What is it about wet guy that makes them more attrative?
