Lol, yes. But they are both very different so that's probably one of the reasons they work so well together and the films they make together are so good and are so much fun. :-)

What I like about Johnny Depp (and perhaps Tim Burton too) is that he isn't afraid of doing the odd movies and playing the everything-but-mainstream-characters. He's not afraid of appearing dirty and ugly on screen and that's why his characters are so much more believable and interesting. And his characters become beautiful and funny and everything because they are acted out with love!!!
I really think he's having fun on set!!! :-)

Yes, that's what I like about them as well. They are different, and they aren't afraid of being different. They don't always make the normal "safe" films, and I think that's why people appreciate them, because there is really no-one around who is like them.

Oh my goodness, are you kidding, JF? I've seen more Johnny Depp movies than I could name. What's Eating Gilbert Grape is a great movie, and it took oodles of talent. It also had Leonardo Dicaprio in it, playing Gilbert's mentally disabled brother, and all the scenes Leonardo was in were unscripted. It was mainly improv between the two of them. Like, they would have things that they would have to talk about, but they didn't have any lines. That's amazing to me. I would never be able to do that.

Oh and I love Johnny in Stephen King movies. Like um, Secret Window and The Ninth Gate. Yay Johnny and Stephen King! My fave actor and my fave author!

I have to say. I think anyone who doesn't recognize Johnny Depp as one of the greatest actors of our time is not only blind but deaf and brainless as well!

I really want to see it.

Got to see a preview with it in a Neilsen survey before the preview hit the TVs. His singing was fantastic. It sends shudders down my spine - good shudders. He sounded great!

I've read a lot of articles about it though and it sounds like it will be really gruesome, but we will see. One article said that people working on the set had to take frequent breaks because the fake limbs, etc.. were making them feel ill!

Eww.... I took me ages to gather courage to see Sleepy Hollow because of the blood-ness... I thought it'd be worse than it actually was. I hope they make it humourous in Sweeney Todd too...
Anyone knows when it's opening?

Yeah. Sleepy Hollow wasn't bad at all. It was a really weird gruesome and, I think, if it's like that it will be good. I hope they don't make it too realistic though. There's something great about the way they made it in Sleepy Hollow. It wasn't really realistic, but it was believable somehow.

Sweeney Todd opens Christmas Day.

Yeah, I know, Sleepy Hollow wasn't bad at all, I was just asuming!
For some reason what I've heard of Sweeney Todd reminds me of the kitsch musical movie Little Shop of Horrors.. which I have only seen as a musical.. but I hope it's going to be like that!! :-)

Yeah. I was afraid Sleepy Hollow would be worse too.

Little Shop of Horrors. lol. Yes! I hope it's like that. I think it's a lot darker though.
