I really prefer canon characters, actually, if I'm RPing in an existing universe (since you obviously can't have canon characters for an Original Fantasy). I have a few that I regularly play (Barbossa and Beckett in PotC RPGs especially), but I also love branching out and playing new characters. I really enjoy the challenge of studying a character and trying to get their mannerisms down right, though I never play a character who I'm not relatively familiar with already.

does Venny have an angsty character? *gasp* I don't have potr's expertise with canon characters. no studying, for instance. But then again, I don't play canon characters as often. It feels restricting.

I have a long song list for Kendath, foremost of which is "What I've Done" by Linkin Park, "Crawling" by Linkin Park, "Crawling in the Dark" by Hoobastank, and "What's Left of Me" by Nick Lachey. There's also Papa Roach's entire album, Getting Away with Murder, though lyrics don't always match. Because we all know Kenny's a happy character.

Ven, ever heard the song "Always" by Saliva? reminds me of Feuer/Kalyn.

yes, LDM, kind of. Zero in Flight of the Chosen.
he's the first type of that that i played. sort of a sadistic [s]person[/s] 3/4 dragon 1/4 human creature that loves to kill, loves to get revenge, and basically knows only hate. or mostly hate...

hm, Always? i shall go listen immediately!

yes, LDM, we all know that Kenny prefers flowers, perfume, and frilly little tutus to swords and killing and murdering.

even i, who has gathered that much just from conversation. and the song titles.

While I was in Costa Rica, the English radiostation played What I've Done pretty frequently. I liked it a lot. My friends headbanged to it and I sorta joined in but mostly I told them a lot more than they wanted to know about a certain character I knew. It was fun.

Flowers, perfume, and tutus. Wow. Evidently I've got a lot to learn.

well then i gotta listen to what ive done then :D

and ahem, it's frilly little tutus

I think a song for my char, Tur, would be "Get off of my back" by Brian Adams, I believe.

^ all the same one...just different time periods...:teehee:

Which brings me to my next question for all of my RPGing friends! :) See, I needed to ask my fellow AUers a question, and I wasn't sure where to post, so I thought I would ask it here!

I really love the background I have created with my main LOTR RPG charactor, Turwaithiel (:teehee:). It has gotton really deep and really, really descriptive and other ways along those lines, and I was thinking about writing a fanfict about her past and future and then other things about her life. I might even use a AU charactor or two from here...with the AUer's permission of course! :)

Is that a dumb idea, and if I posted on here in the fanfiction section, would any of you read it? Thanks for any advice and/or comments!

I'd read it! And you have my permission to use my main LotR character since the two are friends!

Really? Thanks Rain! I was thinking of Rain when I wrote that sentence, but she and her daughter wouldn't come into the story for a while, for it starts out with her past and yeah...it's like her life story....

I'll read and critique. just tell me when you've posted it up.

remember the contest deadline is the 18th! the rpg doesn't have to be completely new, as long as it opened in the last week or two. I've only gotten one entry so far (all hail Tur). the rest of you will be feeling my chainsaw soon enough. *glare*

*Steals the chainsaw*

Ha.

I've got one planned, just need to find the time to write it down and post it. Besides, if you saw me in half I can't write an entry ;)
