Dunno if I would really agree...I think it's actually pretty perfect for Jhoran the SC character. There's a certain quality of names about any literary work, even sometimes RPGs, and Jhoran seems to fit very nicely with the trend. If anyone knows what I mean. Lol.

Thanks Aerlinn! I'm now discovering things I'd like to change about it, so I don't think I'll keep it up for long, but I'd always wanted a Here There Be Dragons banner...so I made one :-D

hmmm I think Aiden is an Irish name.

All my girl charrie names (which most of them are) tend to end in -a. Except Tenil na'Tatha - but I still got away with the surname :D I don't know why...
I like Alanna, Justyna, and Dyr'a - one name that I haven't used yet, but want to, is an Irish name, actually the name of a town: Aidne. Methinks it would be cool...

oh, I put up the starting post for my RP. Still room for ppl if they just want to appear sporadically.

My female names have a strange tendency to end in -rin or -ryn. And even my male names - as in Phaerin, Merrin, Silvryn, Rhaeryn. I'd agree, Reindeer, that a lot of my favorite names end in N, too. Not all by far, cause I also have Jada, Nakaida, Adellis, Eledhe, Mirrim, recently Aelie...but it's interesting to contemplate.

And also, are names often spontaneous for people? Or do you do a lot of searching around for one? Generally when mine are spontaneous I later find they're very similar to a name I already knew. For example, Nakaida was subconsciously based on the composer of a piano piece I was playing (Yoshinao Nakada), and I'm pretty sure Merrin is a manipulation of Erin, which is my friend's name...actually, I don't think any of my names are completely original besides possibly Eledhe.

It really depends on the RPG and things like that. I have made some up off the top of my head and sometimes I even use generators. *shrug* It really just depends.

I think Aiden is Irish/Scottish. I like Celtic names like that. Cu'scath is a name I made up from a couple of Irish words. It means "dark wolf" or something... I looked up a lot of words and forgot what it means. lol

I went through a faze that every "real life" RP name I used was Irish, Scottish, or Welsh. I've used Ciaran, Connor, Aiden, Rhys, and Branwen. lol

I love the name Aiden... and Adrian for a boy. *grins* :D

@Elenya - I don't think there's anything wrong with that... I really like those names.

Hmm...actually, Aidan/Aiden/Aidon/Aedon/Ayden are all names for both guys and girls. And they're all variations of the same name, which I've used several times. Ayden just happens to be my favorite spelling of it, followed by Aedon, and then Aidan. I would say that Adrian is moreso the male version of Adrianne.

I would agree with you, Ellie, that Jhoran sounds slightly Aiel, except that the name preceeds WoT for me. I had it before I started reading the books. I've actually used names like that far more than any other, I think, though as I said, I have no idea what inspired them.

I think Aiden is awesome! :) Amazing name. I've used it a couple times.

I really like the name(s) Layien, Alanna, Alythrya, Sarah, Kithsytha, and some others. I have too many different names for guys that I use to name. lol

Lol, Tur. Actually, Aidan (including it's alternate spellings) is probably my favorite name, both for characters and in real life. Well, it's actually second to my own name in real life, but other than that....:P

I think I've been in RPGs where you've used Alythrya, Alanna, and Kithsytha, but I don't know about the rest. It seems that you like y's and l's. :P

Um, since it seems that nobody else really wants to post anything in here.....I shall now give a short form for everyone to fill out.

1. What has been your favorite RPG so far?
2. Which character has been your favorite, and in which RPG?
3. Which character has been the hardest to write as/for?
4. Which character has been the easiest to write as/for?
5. Which RPG do you most wish had succeeded?

There. That should give y'all a minute's worth of something to do in here.

1. What has been your favourite RPG so far? Star Crystal - Dragon RPG.
2. Which character has been your favorite, and in which RPG? Tal Adaron in And Legends Became Real or Damien Orondar in Quest for the Great Ones.
3. Which character has been the hardest to write as/for? Adanil, in Star Crystal - Dragon RPG.
4. Which character has been the easiest to write as/for? Tal Adaron in And Legends Became Real.
5. Which RPG do you most wish had succeeded? Star Wars: The Aftermath of War or And Legend Became Real.

1. What has been your favorite RPG so far? Star Crystal. But you all knew that.
2. Which character has been your favorite, and in which RPG? Again. Merrin in Star Crystal.
3. Which character has been the hardest to write as/for? Hmm, Will Turner if we're counting canons, and if not...probably Adellis from Wyrmlord's Ascendancy.
4. Which character has been the easiest to write as/for? Merrin from Star Crystal - I've had her the longest. I also find playing Elizabeth Swann for PotC very easy.
5. Which RPG do you most wish had succeeded? Hmmm...Legends Made Real had promise...

Lol, Melda. No surprise on any of them, though I didn't really know what you would answer for the fifth one. :P

1. What has been your favorite RPG so far? Hm... I'm not sure... Flight of the Chosen probably
2. Which character has been your favorite, and in which RPG? is this including other's characters: LDM's character in Pirate's Crystals or something like that
3. Which character has been the hardest to write as/for? I remember Pendragon from an rpg that didn't get to far, and I don't remember the name...
4. Which character has been the easiest to write as/for? um... Probably Louy from modern day rpgs... though I haven't used her in awhile
5. Which RPG do you most wish had succeeded? It's a pirates one, mentioned above, that Tur made.

Well, I actually meant which of your own characters was your favorite, Eruraina--otherwise, at least my answer would be different, and possibly Melda's as well.

Hm... then it would probably be... Locien. That or maybe my character Eruraina... or Laraina Endymion... one of those...

That name is cool, granted....but Aerlinniel and Aerandir are actually much, much, much cooler. :D

The 'Sea' names are awesome.

Just fyi, everyone, I'm going to be gone Saturday and Sunday. It'll be Monday before I can post again. I'm going on my first actual vacation-to-another-place since......perhaps sometime two or more years ago? Anyway, hopefully it'll be fun.

I randomly say usernames (and character names) aloud to myself. Like, when I was trying to figure out how to say Eledhe. I stood in the kitchen washing dishes going, "El-ay-thee...El-ed-he...El-edthe..." I did eventually settle on El-ay-thee, but I do it all the time. "Aerlinniel...Elegost Eruaphadion...Taurquende...Sidawethiel..."
