It's okay, Aerlinn! Life has the annoying habit of getting in the way.
You're welcome, PD!

"Coherent" means "logical and consistent" - basically, your post made sense.

Oh. Well mabay that does apply to me It's nice to know that my post made sense. And now I can use the word "coherent" in my English assay and then my English teacher will be very proud of me

I should do that too because my French is really bad. Really really bad. And so is my Swedish. Thank God I'm this good at English Otherwise I wouldn't be able to post anything in an English forum.

^I think your English is pretty good... and English is a language, with all the different spellings and the grammer and everything, that seems like it could be pretty hard to learn. so that your this good is really something.

wow! What is your original language (if you don't mind me asking)? I couldn't imagine knowing even that much of that many languages! lol just French for me. Elvish would be a pretty language to learn... too bad there wasn't a country that spoke it though so I could get to learn it.
anyway, we're off topic... back to Aragorn and Arwen...

My original language is Finnish so I speak Finnish, English and I try really hard to speak Swedish and French too So it's four languages and I think I'm going to take fifth language when I go to high school (I'm not sure if that's the right term for it but I think it's close )
And yes...back to Arwen and Aragorn.

Anywho, on the topic... I don't think Aragorn would be the kind of guy to marry another woman. He seems the kind who would stay true to his beloved.

Hey guys!
I'm really sorry that I've left you for such a long time, but uni is really taking away all of my time right now. Today is actually the first day I spend some time online doing nothing for uni. But I'll definitely try to post more often again now, at least at the weekends.

If I was the stealing type I'd totally steal them! but since I'm not I'll just admire them "on" you. Thanks so much again! You wouldn't be the only one wishing to steal them. Maybe I'll do a claim one day when I've got some leisure time again. Calloniel (PD) wrote: Aye! *raises a mug to A/A* the questions just get harder and harder! ummm, Aragorn might have. (and then with Arwen... well, if she had left I think she would've lived in total regret forever and never really gotten over Aragorn) Yep, I totally agree with you again. That's exactly how I fell as well. I think he might have married as part of his "duty" of a King and he would have tried to love that woman then, but I also think that a great part of his heart would always belong to Arwen no matter where she was. And I think if Arwen had died if the ring had't been destroyed (the Anduril scene in RotK) and Aragorn had survived, he would have never married at all, as he might have felt somehow responisble for her death. For Arwen, I agree that she would have had a life in sorrow and sadness in the West then. RDM wrote: Gosh. That's a really hard question. Well... I think that Aragorn could've gotten married with someone else than Arwen but only if he hadn't met her at all. I don't think that he would've let go of his love for her even if she would've left. And he probably wouldn't have been able to love any other woman the same way he loved Arwen and he isn't the kind of man who would get married with someone if he wasn't deeply in love with her especially because he would've realized that it wouldn't be fair to that woman. (I hope that my English was good enough for this message...well, you probably get my point anyway ) ~ RDM
Reading your post now, I agree that Aragorn might not have even married because of his "kingly duty". You're right that he's a man who must really love a woman to become her lover, which becomes pretty clear in his relationship to Eowyn. So, you might be right as well that he would never be ready to marry another woman indeed.
Okay, next topic:
I've just thought about the scene in the RotK book where Arwen gives the Evenstar pendant to Frodo and allows him to sail to Valinor in her place. Imagine Aragorn would have had a similar chance to go into the West together with Arwen. Do you think he would go with her or that he wouldn't be able to leave his kingdom now that Minas Tirith had a King again. How would he decide?

Hey, Rose! I'm happy to see you here.... also this club has sorta died without you. anyway, I hope you'll be able to get on more now!
you're welcome! I imagine not! lol ooo, yes, yes! You're own claim would be a wonderful idea!
thanks! yup, that's how I see it.... Aragorn and Arwen were MADE for each other... they couldn't have been happy any other way. Me wuve true love!
as to the next question... hmmm, I think Aragorn would've stayed in Minas Tirith... I mean that was kinda what he was destined for, wasn't it? To be the king of Minas Tirith (and basically Middle-earth) and to rule in peace and justice... if he had left he would've been giving up his duty. And I'm sure Arwen would've understood and stayed with him no matter what.
did that make sense? it doesn't seem like it did....

Hi Rose! Great to see you again! sorry we let this thread kinda die while you were gone Good question too. Unfortunately PD already did such a great job answering that I have nothing more to contribute. Except, perhaps, that another option for him would be to appoint Faramir as the king in his stead. Though I don't think that technically would've worked very well since Aragorn was THE king, but still...
