Well, one of the characteristics of dragons is that they're extremely cunning, which does add to the appeal, for me. Cleverness/intelligence/even devious-ness is an intriguing characteristic in anyone. But I do think there are different settings in which I appreciate them in different ways, and I really like the dragonrider setting.

I love the dragonrider setting as well. It is like we as human could have someone much smarter and much much more stronger, and wiser, as a companion, but better yet, a friend. That is why I would want to be a dragon rider.

....I must be blind, for not having seen this earlier.
As such, I must now join as the Majestic and Grand Red-Gold Chainsaw-wielding (and stealing) Dragon Lord of Unfathomable power that cannot be overcome by ANY OTHER DRAGON....like Melda's or LDM's.
So there.
Thus, this club can be the last one I join before I vanish, though it's vital that I have membership in it.

Uh oh, vanish? As in, vanish for how long? *doesn't like the word 'vanish' when it's spoken by the Reindeer* [Edit: Oh. VANISH. *doesn't know whether to smack you or hug you* Well, this will make my MSN greetings all the more violent, then]
And I shortened your title a tad, it was a bit long. Erm, welcome to the club

Anyways.
I decided that furry Dragons are some of the most adorable things ever. I know that shaggy fur is pointless in defending yourself, but their so cute, and squishable...*squishes furry dragon*

I read your speech, Reindeer. I shall properly bash you the next time I encounter you on MSN. Best find yourself some mithril armor for my BIGGER chainsaw. What's that you say? Don't have any mithril? HAH!
Aerlinn wrote: Well...I prefer them free To be honest, I prefer them evil too ....well, I don't consider them evil, but then again, I don't really believe in the existence of pure good and evil at all, so that might explain it I prefer them wild, cunning, dangerous...selfish Lol. I know I'm weird... But to me, the so called "evil", dangerous part is exactly what makes dragons so interesting.. Okay, I admit it. I have an addiction to evil characters and persons... Not that'd I'd want to be evil myself, but I'm just addicted to danger.
I completely agree. Even dragons can't escape that so-called "corruption" when it comes to having too much power and way too much time to use it. That's what makes them cool. That egocentrical, deadly, almost bored edge.
I prefer dragons free. The dragon/rider bond is interesting but impractical, I think. If I happened to be scaled and winged and spike-ish, I wouldn't want to fly around with a mayfly-sized disturbance on my back. Dragonriders seem to be more detriments than assets. Dragons live for centuries, even millennia. Why would they care about the *coughahem* petty affairs of mortals? From what I've seen in books, they aren't even actively involved in mortal affairs. Talk about dragon/rider equality, but I don't understand how tame dragons put up with the "I'm off to this big meeting that will determine the fate of the world, but you go have supper and I'll update you later. Oh, and make sure you're here in an hour to pick me up because I need to be on the other side of the continent by noon."
But that's just me.

I like both. Best of two worlds kinda thing. I like dangerous, I-could-kill-you-in-half-a-second-and-eat-you-so-give-me-a-reason-not-to dragons (pretty awesome) and the slightly different kind that usually come with dragonriders. They're dragons, so I can have both if I want to

Here is another question:
What first inspired your love or liking for dragons?

I don't know when I first loved dragons... It's been a long long time... I think when I was an infant and thought Barney was a dragon... NO! I'm just kidding! lol!
I honestly don't remember... Maybe around third second grade because my teacher had this awesome dragon poster behind her desk... and it went on from there.

Since I started reading fantasy I've liked dragons. They're kinda the embodiment of fantasy literature. So that means...when I was twelve or thirteen, probably (sixteen now). Every good story has a dragon in it somewhere, or it's not a good story Okay, well, maybe not literally.

I think I like wild dragons best. There's something about how dangerous and unpredictable they can be that I like.
I can't remember exactly when I first got interested in dragons. It could have been when I read some myths with dragons for school a few years ago. I really like the dragons in Norse myth.

I've liked Dragons for a while. I was a really big fan of dinsoaurs when I was little(3-6), and Dragons just seemed to be the next logical step. My dinosaur dragons slowly began to grow wings, and fire seemed to be spouting from their mouths(6 onwards). Then, I got really hard core into fantsy, reading as many fantasy books that I could get my hands onto. They seem like they been part of my life for almost as long as I can remember. Instead of imaginary friends, I had imaginary pets, most of them being Dragons.
