Ooh...Susan/Caspian sounds...icky.
I mean, I might be okay with some flirting/attraction suggested, but...kissing? That sounds like they consider it canon!
 Grr.
It could turn out okay...but then if there's anything more than flirting, it's just going to be stupid, because she doesn't come back to Narnia and he ends up marrying that Star girl or something in VotDT!
Ehhhhhhh. I don't know.

Agreed and agreed. I could even do without the flirting, but if they go and change the whole story... They better watch out. I mean what if they decide to bring Susan into the VotDT?!?! What happens then?!?! The whole story will be uprooted and then... and then... This is a conspiracy! -goes of to sulk-

Oh, I could DEFINITELY do without the flirting. Leaving Caspian/Susan (I feel a combined name coming on...Suspian?) out COMPLETELY would be the best option in my book.
But if we have to settle for a bit of romance, FINE. I will accept some cute conversations, attractions and flirting with minimal annoyance.
But...kissing?!?? No, no, NO. That's just taking it too far. If one of the writers or producers had this little Caspian/Susan fantasy that they've always wanted to see lived out...fanfiction is the place. NOT the movie!
Making them kiss...making this romance seem anywhere near canon...that is just bad and wrong!
*grumblemumble*

Tim4x, Eddie Izzard plays the voice of Reep??? I'll probably die for asking this, but who's he? I've never heard that name before...
Saira, you're probably right... when you think about a mouse having a voice you picture a high pitched squeaky voice. which I guess I'm happy they DIDN'T give Reep... it really wouldn't fit him. He is!
I know, it's really weird... hopefully that was only brief and the rest of the movie he'll act... normal.
See, that's just sort of a Disney thing. It's not bad mush, IMO... anything that just lets you escape reality and have fun for a while is never bad. and it's Disney (and, of course, other companies do it too ). You're just weird. (just kidding!) chick flicks are fun! "Aye, that be true." lol
RA, Suspian? that doesn't even sound right!! I guess we're just gonna have to put our faith in the script writers and the rest... but I really hope they do it tastefully... I agree though attractions and flirting wouldn't be bad but if they kiss. I dunno. Maybe it'll just be a small little peck on the lips? It just seems so... pointless to have them fall that in love when Susan leaves and he marries the other girl.
But who knows... I've tired my poor mind trying to figure it out. I guess whatever'll happen will happen, you know... I'll still probably love the movie either way.

Ugh. I know. Doesn't Suspian just sound awful?
I still can't believe that they would even consider it. If they do anything...I don't know, but it had just better turn out okay.

I have something against the entire thing. I dont know why, I just do. It... It scares me a little methinks -goes and curls up in corner with blanky- I wants it to be perfect.
Haha Well I mean Disney just gives you these completely unrealistic (but I guess wonderful) expectations about life in a way. Its all... "Happy Ending" - ish you know?

Calloniel (PD) wrote: Pip, exactly! lol And it'll be so much fun to see that on the big screen... although they're gonna have to get just the right two young actors for it. Only the best of the best will be acceptable, IMO. they are extremely entertaining... not to say the ones who don't fight-flirt aren't, but still. I agree with you. "mushy-ness" has it's place, not in Narnia though... which is why I'm a tad wary of the whole Caspian/Susan thing, but who knows, they might be able to pull it off.
good comparison. like Eowyn...
I can only imagine what he must look like! actually I saw a pack-set of the BBC versions of LWW, The Silver Chair and PC just the other day. they looked interesting... if I had money to waste and throw around (it I had money AT ALL! ) I probably would've bought them. Of course! Narnia deserves nothing but the best! even if it might not get it, unfortunately... Well, that's the kind of "mushy" that's entertaining as well as squee-worthy, you see. So it's okay in Narnia. Yes, well, she'd be happy since Eowyn is one of her favorites. Oh really? Yeah, they're kinda fun if only to see what a low-budget Narnia looks like. I remember seeing that version of LWW when I was little, but not much about it. Hey, thanks, Bala! You found that TV spot and saved me the trouble! ~RinielAranel~ wrote: Ugh. I know. Eeeeeeeeeeeww. "Willabeth" is at least kinda cute-sounding...and Farawyn, although that one's not used too much. Romy, Kurtty, Kiotr...some "pairing" names work and some really don't. Like Suspian, for example.

Suspian, Suspian, Suspian... hm, I'm still trying to digest that word.
I guess the idea of a Susan/Caspian thing is scary just because you don't know how far they took it, but this is where faith comes in, right?
Saira, I dunno about that... not all of their stuff is happy endings. look at AWE for example. That wasn't just mushiness and everything went perfect and they just skipped through life, no Will and Elizabeth had to trust and work together... and even then their relationship was tested for 10 long years. So I wouldn't say ALL of Disney is like that. And it's not so much that they give you unrealistic expectations as they just provide a happy escape from reality for a while. And not everything has to be dismal and gray in life anyway....
Anie, you said it! well, I think it'll at least get close to the best... I mean, if Disney and Walden Media dedicate so much to their other movies why shouldn't they to Narnia? Aye, well put, Pip.
Ah, I see...
Since I didn't have money though... yeah, I guess I won't be seeing what a low-budget Narnia looks like. Although it does sorta strike my interest... just for the novelties of it.
anyway, anyone heard anything new about Prince Caspian? Any new gossip going around?

PotC isnt Disney though Despite the fact that I actually LIKE AWE, I would like to point out, Cally dearest, that it is in reality fairy mushy. By the simple fact that they are not talking and all that just makes it so much more painfully mushy through the fact that they loves each other THAT much and it just hurts them and so ladidah But for some strange odd reason, Im starting to like it....
I dont really look at it like they were tested though... I mean now that you mention it DUH, but for me its just , "Awww... Happy ending!"

Yeah...when I read the book I didn't think of them as conciously flirting. They were too young for that...their arguing was the sort of unconcious flirting that kids do. And I thought it was really cute, especially the way that C.S. Lewis worded the ending. I hope they do it so that we're watching them argue, and maybe laughing or going 'aww' in our heads in a few places, but Shasta and Aravis weren't trying to flirt. (Eww. Them purposefully flirting with each other would be BAD.)
Heheh...Sharavis. I enjoy this combined-name thing.

Oops. I had probably better rephrase that so as not to have that taken the wrong way again. I meant the more subconcious flirting, like you said, Rin. I never thought of it as concious flirting. Although I always get the impression that Shasta had a tiny crush on Aravis, at the very back of his mind.

Saira, well PotC is still Disney made. even if it doesn't feel like it most of the time... uh-huh... well, I'm not sure where you get that fact, but let's just leave it at that. Because I do believe there is such a thing as love in this world, maybe not the way the Disney Princesses show it, but the way Will and Lizzie show it is relatively more realistic to me. They struggle and it's not all goop and lovey-dovey. Anyway, I guess we should get back to the PC topic...
well, they were still tested in the end. it wasn't all a happy ending... I mean after that it sort of was, but in RL there is such a thing as happy times and maybe even happy endings. It doesn't have to all be gloom, death and sadness. anyway... I'll stop now and go back to chatting about PC...
hehe, Sharavis? I actually sorta like that one!
Pip, that's just... weird. I cannot believe it'll be rated R... where did he hear about that? Eh, I think it'll be PG-13... but certainly not R. I mean what in the world would they be putting in it if it was R? Isn't it gonna be a kid's/teen's movie? yeah... I think he's just helping spread the rumor. lol

Yeah, it had better be PG, I'm bringing the two little girls I mentor.
And I'm almost done rereading the book, and Susan just uses her bow once or twice, so far she hasn't done any fighting. *grumbles*
I hope they use the name "DLF" in the movie.

Oh, that's alright, Saira.
meh, I'm sure it won't be R-rated... that's just a silly rumor because in all seriousness it IS a children’s movie... families will want to see it and it just wouldn't be good if it had something in it THAT bad to cause it to be rated R.
However, I would not be surprised if it was PG-13. What was LWW anyway? *goes off to look it up* eh, it was PG... although PC is slightly darker looking, but still.
I hope DFL comes into the movie too...
Btw, it’s almost only down to 1 month before PC comes out!
