Greetings and welcome, Naerwen.

Awards to be posted on New Year's day.

All right, remember the pointless mass rpg I promised way back when for that queer thing called RPersfest? I've decided to do it here and see how it goes.
To all who feel like participating, pick the best character you've played all year (or pick any character. or make a new character. don't really care) and fill out this short little profile:
Name:
Gender:
Race:
Age:
Profession:
Appearance:
Optional (story of his/her creation, reputation, rpgs he/she's been in, time of his/her life when he/she was plucked out of the rpg and thrown into this one):

(no biographies on personality/history, please. after all, where's the fun in being told that beforehand?)
Scenario: Our characters have been randomly invited to a dinner/banquet/feast/thing at the palace of The One and Only Dictator Whose Word Is Law. Don't ask how or why. This is supposed to be pointless, remember? Walk around, talk to the other characters, dance, and generally eat drink and be merry. Nobody expects novellas! THREE-LINERS WELCOME (*le gasp*... though if you want to write an epic, feel free) The world is seamless. Our characters could know each other from other rpgs, by reputation, etc. The purpose of this is to meet other rpers and their characters, as well as to showcase your own characters.
Note - Dinners/banquets/feasts/things are boring, so events MIGHT wax a tad more interesting, depending on participation levels.

Ye hark me? Great, let's begin.

Name: Denaris Erydera
Gender: male
Race: elf
Age: appears in early 30's
Profession: ruler of the world. (er. dark mage in the process of taking over said world.)
Appearance: tall, slender; long, sleek black hair; green eyes; smoothly handsome; gold-trimmed black robes
Optional: Evil/powerful/notorious guy. He was in a few of Curunir's world domination rpgs, though I haven't used him in a while. He pops up in my story too, so I'm rather fond of him. Yes, he's got MS written all over him. He's one of my first MS's, in fact.

-----

The One and Only Dictator Whose Word Is Law wasn't a bad host, and for a connoisseur like Denaris, that compliment was saying something. Raising a feathery eyebrow, the mage tipped his wine glass and examined the crimson sloshing within. He swirled it, sniffed it, then dared to take a sip. Not bad. Not bad at all. He'd almost expect it to be of elven import. Lowering the glass, he sat back in his chair and watched the proceedings with a thin half-smile.

A crystal chandelier tossed rosy candlelight onto the vaulted ceiling and myriad of figures twirling on the dance floor. The marble floor tiles were polished to immaculate perfection - so impressively that Denaris couldn't help glancing at it now and then to check his appearance. The long tables groaned under platters of delicacies that he hadn't cared to touch. Human chefs did, after all, have their limits. Perhaps he'd venture over later, simply to associate himself with some choice potentates. One can never have too many friends.

"More wine, m'lord?" came a timid inquiry behind him, and he turned halfway in his seat to see a hovering serving maid. She curtsied twice and raised the gem-studded decanter.

"How could I refuse?" he replied, flashing a grin that could - depending on circumstance - oscillate between incessantly enfuriating and innocently disarming. At the moment, he chose it to be the latter. It worked, of course, from the slight flush in the girl's cheeks as she poured the beverage. Doltish wench, he thought, as she curtsied again and scurried away. Despite himself, though, his grin remained.

This was looking to be quite an entertaining night.

Name: Merrin Dragonrider
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Age: 19
Profession: Dragonrider
Appearance: Petite, mid-length brown hair with tints of red, blue eyes. Fair-skinned. Fairly attractive, not especially or strikingly pretty. Gives the impression of innocence, naivete to a point.
Optional: Merrin was the product of a five-second bio I came up with a little more than a year ago, for Star Crystal. She was deliberately meant to be a non-MS, which has carried through somewhat - she was supposed to be a bit older than the rest (well, that part didn't) not beautiful or striking, and not particularly skilled. At this point she's probably where she was at about...oh...page 40 of Crystal. Minus whatever romantic stuff was going on at that point.

-----

"Thank you, he'll be fine," said Merrin politely, as the somewhat baffled steward watched her dragon, settled just outside the entrance, happily occupy himself in lazily batting fireflies. "If there are any leftovers, I'm sure he'd quite appreciate them."

I don't think he means to send any out, said Wyvern plaintively as soon as she was inside.

I forbid you to go hunting - you might offend someone, she told him. I'll get you dinner later.

He subsided with a grumble. Merrin hung up her coat, casting tentative glances inside the large ballroom, peppered with dancing couples and lounging dignitaries. Their conversation drifted outside in a low buzz.

There was a conveniently placed mirror on the far wall, which she paused once to scrutinize herself in. The only light in the entryway came from a pair of torches, which set her pearl-white dress shimmering in a manner she rather liked - but otherwise, she evaluated her own appearance as somewhat plain.

Lifting the hem of her dress to avoid stepping on it, she ventured forward, refusing a perfunctory offer of wine at the door, and cast about helplessly for somewhere to gravitate to. The rainbow of colors in silk, brocade, satin rustling, was almost dazzling to look at. For lack of anything else to do, she sat down on the edge of the nearest crystalline fountain and, after a moment of hesitation, accepted the offered drink that a passing servant proffered. One taste was enough to convince her she'd rather not, but she toyed idly with the vessel nonetheless to avoid looking up.

Name: Cu'scath
Gender: Male
Race: Half human, half wolf (don't ask why. lol)
Age: 32
Profession: Wanderer, mostly.
Appearance: He's tall and lean, but still strong. Cu'scath's left side of his body looks more wolf-like, with a pointed, fur-tipped ear and fur on the side of his face. His mouth and nose are extended into a slight snout; he has a low forehead and golden eyes. His hair is thick, greyish-black, and shaggy. Instead of nails, his fingers are tipped with claws. He wears brown trousers, a white shirt, a brown cloak, and leather boots. He carries two long knives and a smaller throwing dagger.
Optional: Cu'scath was born some time ago in one of Raven's RPs, I think. He has been reborn in maybe three or four RPs after that, as a different race each time. Sadly, he's never gotten the chance to actually be in an RP for long, as the ones he was in died out rather quickly. Lately, he's been sticking to wandering and sight-seeing.

Um... I thought we weren't aloud to do this sort of stuff in this club. *looks around nervously* I'll join, but I think I remember a mod saying "As long as you don't rp in it" and the rply was "No, it'll be about talking about rping, not actually rping" May not be actual words...

((Alrightly then, I will join! :)

Bio:
Name: Dark Rising
Race: Half avain human-hybird
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Profession: Protector/Leader of her Flock a.k.a Killer of Erasers
Appearance: She usually wears all black, with long black hair. Has a pair of large, black wings. Left eye is blind.
Optional: Dark Rising is a charactor I made up based off of The Angel Expieriment novel by James Patterson. She is sort of like the mixture of Fang's personailtiy with Maximum Ride's charactor. (If you had read the books.)))

~~~~~~~
Dark Rising normally wasn't invited to parties. She was normally hunted and running for her life. So, since she was actually invited to one, she decided to make a dashing entrance. (Like her flying with wings didn't have an effect already.)
Dark flew through a window. Yes, through a window. She doesn't normally use the door, anyway. She has never liked doors. They where the work of the devil, doors where to her, so she thought that a window might serve better.
Ha. A window.
It hurt a little more that she anticipated, but she flew straight through and landed on the ground, doing a little drop and roll manuevor to protect herself from the glass. After a moment of recovery, she stood up and shook off all the shards of broken glass from her wings and hair and smiled.
"Oops. Sorry about that." She said. "I will pay for that, I promise." She said, nodding.
((I LOVE playing this charactor. She is SO MUCH FUN! :D))
I think it's probably fine, Eruraina. We're not completely turning the club over to RPing, it's more of a way to show off our characters and interact. It's not like it's going to have a plot, really. It's almost like us discussing our characters, only IN character instead of out :)
I have to... I really don't want to bring my real-life characters among fantasy.
Name: Ruth Ann Underhill
Gender: Female
Race: Hobbit
Age: 29
Profession: Ranger
Appearance: Brown curly hair, short, hobbit-like. :P
-----------------------------------
Ruth Ann remained seated when the creature, to her thought, flew through the window. She could only give a slight smirk and glance at her sword.
She was not exactly sure why she was here. She recieved some letter of invitation, presumed it was something totally different than it obviously was, and showed up based upon tha presumption.
"I should have dragged Merry, Frodo, or even Pippin along. That would change this party around a bit," she muttered to herself, turning the full pint around in circles and inwardly laughing because of her imagination showing her how all three of them would have devoured two of these pints by now.
"Oh well," Ruth Ann sighed, "I am sure that I can survive tonight, and then tommorrow I will be off on the road again hoping to run into a creature I can justly slaughter."
Right. I'm in. (Not like I would've been given a choice) :P
Name: Rina Natasi
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Age: 40
Profession: Interplanetary ambassador for the New Republic
Appearance: Noble features; platinum blonde hair that's almost always pinned up in some fashion; dark blue eyes; very poised
Optional: Rina was developed for Valera's RPG, Star Wars: Imadi Blood; in the RPG, Rina was the New Republic's ambassador to Imadi, her home planet. Rina was very determined to do what she thought was best for Imadi - even if it mean eliminating the present ruler in order to accomplish it. She's not truly evil, just very...ambitious. And stubborn. I'm bringing her in from just a bit prior to the RPG.
-------------------
Ambassador Rina Natasi took a delicate sip from her glass of wine - it was nearly as good as the Tarul wine that she had sampled at a charity event the week prior - and surveyed the ballroom. It was quite beautiful, in a rather quaint way. Torches and candles served in the place of electric lights, and not an ounce of metal was used in the construction, save in the ornate decorations and fixtures. She was reminded of the stone ruins that she had once visited on her homeworld, though this building was in decidedly better condition.
Setting her empty glass on the tray of a passing servant, Rina searched for a suitable spot to sit down. She had told her maidservants to select shoes that were suitable for extended periods of standing and possibly dancing, but they evidently had failed to listen. Again. Were it not for the absurdly complicated gowns that she was occasionally required to don for formal events, she would have done away with most of her staff years ago. It was so much more efficient to do things oneself.
Finally, she spotted a sparkling fountain on the other side of the room that seemed perfect. Carefully weaving her way through the masses, she made her way across the floor and sat down next to a young woman who looked slightly bewildered by it all. "You do not frequent these events, I presume?" she asked after a moment, having nothing better to do than engage in conversation. She would not be on her feet again for at least the next half hour, if it could be helped.
((Me))
Merrin looked up, surprised out of her thoughts. "No," she admitted, a touch reluctantly, before assimilating who had addressed her. The woman was older - older than Merrin's nineteen, for certain, though by how much she could not have said - and dressed flawlessly, with an air of somewhat tolerant confidence, as though she did this frequently. And perceptive...or was it so easy to tell how ill at ease Merrin was?
The thought was a little unsettling. Setting down her untouched wine glass, Merrin straightened. "I don't think we've met," she began tentatively. "I - my name's Merrin Dragonrider."
Walking down the hallway leading to the ballroom, Cu'scath felt distinctly out of place. Why he had received an invitation, he didn't know- he didn't exactly fit in at parties of this type. He brushed off a servant who offered to take his cloak, but did accept a glass of wine. He could feel the servants staring at him as he walked away. Apparently they weren't used to seeing half-humans, half-wolves walking around.
Surveying the room, Cu'scath spotted a corner away from the main crush of people, and promptly sat down there. His claws chinked slightly against the glass as he drank his wine. Not bad stuff, although it could have been stronger. With a tolerant sigh, he leaned back in his chair. He might as well get comfortable- it was looking like it would be a long night.
